Friday T-shirt vote

patrickgpe

just wondering what other posters thought about this years options.

my thoughts:

1) seems like some of the shirts that didn't make last years cut reappeared.

2) i wish they would have tried the mid 90's logo shirt again though.

3) Bernie's chalet and the Aaron shersey are by far my 2 favorites, with the clock tower shirt a distant 3rd.

4) wouldn't make an effort to get to any other game to get any other shirt, they are look similar to shirts that they are gave out / i have or are boring.

Big fan of the cream city one and the MKE one is nice too. Something about the simplicity of the MKE one just peaks my interest.

Can't say I am sad to see no 1990 themed stuff. Probably because I didn't grow up watching them in that era, but the uniforms and logo were downright hideous. Not to mention the entire era was a joke overall and should not be remembered.

I like the Brew Crew one (royal blue) and the Brewers 1979 (royal blue). Just behind those two I like the white shirt and the MKE one. Solid.

I too would have liked the 90's logo. So bad it's good again. There was a time when I thought that would never come back as a popular logo, but it's getting close to that time. Don't they say like every 20/25 years?

My top 3 include the two mentioned here by MrTPlush (I also really like the cream city one) and the Brewcrew one as well. My two least favorites is the one with all the Milwaukee "icons" (too busy) and the white one with the circle and two bats behind the logo (to close to the 90's logo with the bats)

This probably isn't the best thread to post this, but I have to guess that the Brewers will be coming up with a new logo at some point in the next season or two, probably in time to roughly coincide with the "reemergence" of the on-field product. We have now had our current logo since the 2000 season so this year will mark its 16th campaign. The ball and glove also had a 16 year run before the "industrial stamp" logo of the 90's and I don't think that our current logo is classic enough to merit keeping it for all-time. I love the ball and glove logo but I also don't want the team to necessarily adopt that as its full-time logo again as it may be best to come up with something new for this generation of guys. Any thoughts?

I am not sure they will be changing logos anytime soon, unless they go back to the ball and glove full time. There isn't much a team can do with the nickname brewers in todays PC world. While I am not a huge fan of their current logo, i do like that it gives some tribute to Milwaukee's brewing history while doesn't celebrate the over consumption of alcohol. I think that is the best you are going to get.

When the bucks changed logos, there was a strong indication a full year before that it was going to happen.

If the Brewers want to rebrand themselves, they need only reference the Blue Jays 2012 rebrand. Bring back a classic with some tweaks to update it. Perfection.

And the Astros and the Pirates too I think. Unlike most everyone else here, I'd rather they go with their original logo of the old Milwaukee Braves "M".

  • 2 weeks later...
Maybe the "8th place" design will be on the 2017 ballot, the way the busy (but I still like it) Milwaukee design got a second chance this year. I voted for the Cream City design and I'd vote for it again. If the (to me) ugly designs wind up being handed out on the Fridays we have tickets, I'll have some trading to do...maybe here on Brewerfan's Trading Post.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
