Pearce is an under the radar FA bat who posted a .930 OPS in 2014. Would make a nice RH half of a 1B platoon and can also play 2B. If he rebounded to close to that 2014 form, he would attact some offers at the deadline too. He wouldn't be taking ABs from any current young player. He would be getting the ABs that would have gone to Rogers.

It would be fine. I think it would have to be further down the road before he would maybe take a deal though if the Brewers want a 1 year deal and Pearce is looking for a multi year contract. He would certainly get an opportunity without Rogers around but probably also wants security as he will be 33.
