Miller Park Bachelor Party

nodakfan17

I'd like to crowd-source some ideas for a bachelor party at Miller Park.

The groom is getting married in early June, so the bachelor party would presumably take place in either April or May. The groom's close friends and family are mostly from Green Bay, Madison, and Chicago, so Miller Park seems like a good central location. Most participants would be about 30 years old, but I don't know at this point if we will need to invite the fathers of the bride / groom or any younger cousins. I've been to a bachelor party at Miller Park before and it was so-so. We tailgated, sat in the Terrace Level, stayed at a cheap hotel downtown (Ramada maybe?), and then hit a few bars later in the evening. It was nice to meet up with old friends and catch a Brewer game, but it wasn't particularly memorable or exciting. I'd like to raise the bar a notch.

Here are some possibilities that I have considered:

- Some combination of Brewer Game / Potawatomi Casino

- Miller Park Tour / Bernie's Slide Experience prior to Brewer Game

- Miller Park Suite Rental ($1900 minimum, unclear if it includes food / drink)

- Friday's Table Package

Any insight would be appreciated. Happy New Year, Everyone!

I had my bachelor party at Miller Park last September. We tailgated before and avoided having to deal with a hotel as we made sure we had enough sober drivers to pick everyone up and take everyone home. Personally i think the high end packages like suite rentals and table packages could be a waste. We had plenty to eat in the lot before and just had a few beers inside before heading to heartbreakers after.

I had my bachelor party at Miller Park. We tailgated, and everyone got really drunk and only a few people made it to bars after. The game went 14 innings, so a lot of people just went home, we shoulda left early. I didn't care about going to strip clubs, so we didn't. That's all I got.

My bachelor party also involved Miller Park. I agree with not seeing the value of the suites/table packages.

Mine was :

Golf in the AM.

Rented a school bus with driver to bring us to MP at 1230.

Tailgate and took in a 3pm Brewer game, got plenty drunk.

Bus took us to some bars after. Started at Old German Beer hall, ended at Victor's, with 1-2 bars in between.

No strip clubs. Never been to one, never will.

Wouldn't have it any other way. (The 3pm Saturday brewer game is the way to go)

I appreciate everyone's input. I get the impression that some of the premium seating options might not be worthwhile. Does anyone have experience with Miller Park tours or Bernie's Slide Experience? This same group of friends makes a point to tailgate at least once per season together. I'd like to work in something a little out of the ordinary to commemorate the occasion.

Here is info on Bernies slide:

Only problem is tailgating would not be an option then because you can't be intoxicated during the experience. It does say there is a tour, but likely basic and definitely not going to press box, dugout, locker room etc. so probably a lame tour.

Also an 8 person limit assuming no one else signed up for that day.

Only thing I would throw out would maybe be the picnic type area behind the RF fence. I've never done it but it seems like a good option for groups due to being able to kind of mingle a little bit more rather than sitting in a row of seats where you really only talk to the people next to you. Not sure on the cost vs normal tix and what extra you get but in a season like this they're probably willing to be flexible if you call a rep.

Thanks to all for the input.

We wound up buying Dew Deck tickets for Saturday, April 23rd - $49, all-inclusive (w/ 2 drink tickets).

Prior to the game, we are going to try "Escape Milwaukee," which is a themed puzzle room similar to the ones that have been featured on The Big Bang Theory and Brooklyn Nine-Nine this season. Has anyone been there? Time permitting, we're looking to mix in a brewery tour. Any favorites? Most of our friends live in either Green Bay, Madison, or Chicago (Milwaukee is the central location for us) so we are relying on a lot of outside input to plan the weekend.

I was my brother's best man back in 2012 and we did his bachelor party at Miller Park as well. Not sure exactly what you guys are looking for (my brother and I didn't want to do strip clubs) but we did the early afternoon tour at Miller. That started off the day in an awesome way, had a few sample end of tour beers but also a cool experience for those that hadn't done it before. Tailgating and cheap tickets for the rest of the day and for those that could do it, we went to the Bluemond bars after the game. We had a blast.

MKE Brewing Company, in my opinion, is the best brewery tour in Milwaukee.

The actual tour part is nothing spectacular but yeah, far & away the best bang for your buck as far as samples go.

If you're looking to get drunk for cheap, do this one. I thought the tour was ok but would have been better with less belligerent drunks.

Miller Park tours are good on non-game days as you hit up the press box, visitors locker room, visitors dugout then walk the track to the Brewers bullpen. Not sure how much you'll get on an actual game day - definitely not the clubhouse and most likely none of these features unless it's well in advance of game time. Lakefront Brewery tour is a lot of fun - tour guides are good. I've never done MKE Brewing tour but know people who have and they rate Lakefront the best.

I've done the Escape Chamber (believe it's the same thing as Escape Milwaukee). It's fun with a good group of people who don't take it ultra serious. We'll go back and try one of the other options.

If Escape Mikwaukee is in the afternoon and the Brewers game is at night and golf is an option for early morning tee time PM me as I'll provide basic details on great pricing at Whistling Straits/Blackwolf Run - but given the commute and time of a round this would make for a very long day!!

Thanks to all for the input. The bachelor party was yesterday and it went well.

The highlight of the weekend was the Dew Deck. For $50 / person, it was a great value. Our friend, the bachelor, was featured on the jumbotron after the first inning. He scaled the Mountain Dew climbing wall in under 20 seconds and won a nice fleece jacket. The atmosphere on the Dew Deck was very comfortable. We had assigned seats, but spent most of our time around a high top table. For anyone planning a group outing in the future, my only hangup with the Dew Deck was that the view of the game and scoreboard was partially obstructed from where we sat (deep in right field). Otherwise, I'd rate the experience a 9 of 10.

Due to time and budget constraints, the only other activity we did was an escape room at Escape Milwaukee. This was also a pretty neat experience. The six of us accepted a "mission" as "CIA agents" and had to "escape" from a locked office. We had one hour to complete the mission and were able to escape with about 30 seconds to spare. Part of the mission involved retrieving "evidence" that was locked in safes, brief cases, and desk drawers around the room. Using clues that were provided in our "intelligence briefing," we were able to crack the combinations to these locks and retrieve the evidence. Solving the final puzzle allowed us to escape from the locked office.

My son and I were at the game on Saturday and I remember the climbing wall contestant. My son predicted right away that he would not make it because he got kinda a late start..but he was wrong. Also, not sure I had ever seen anyone compete in that that contest that "rappelled" down the wall when they were done by facing outward.

User in-game thread post in 1st inning of 3rd game of the 2022 season: "This team stinks"

There was no official start to the Dew Deck climb. The cameraman just yelled "go" while my friend (the bachelor) was still facing the field and waving to the camera. He lost 2-3 seconds in the confusion. Earlier, he had been given the opportunity to practice and was able to complete a trial run in 18 seconds at what seemed to be a comfortable pace. After the 2-3 seconds he lost in the beginning, I knew he would be cutting it close. I think his saving grace was the target, which was about 3 feet in diameter. During his trial run, the target wasn't there, so he just reached for the top of the climbing wall. With the target in place, it cut the climb short by a few feet since he only need to touch the bottom of the target. His dismount was epic. Rather than rappel down, he attempted to play the air guitar while facing the crowd as the climbing attendant lowered him down. Go big or go home, I guess. :)

Did you also stop at The Safe House?

No, we didn't stop at The Safe House. I've heard it's an interesting place.

Going with the all-inclusive option on the Dew Deck really helped limit our food and beverage expenses. Technically, alcoholic beverages were limited to 2 / person (non-alcoholic were unlimited), but we worked through a few sixers in the parking lot beforehand.

I too was at the game and thought he wouldnt make it...but he was a bit taller and that helped him lunge at the end. :)
