RIP Gus Gil

DocLuna7

I didn't see this posted anywhere else so feel free to move it if I missed something. Original Milwaukee Brewer Gus Gil unfortunately passed away this week (12/08/15) at the age of 76. Gil played for the Brewers in 1970-1971 as a second baseman and was also on the original Seattle Pilots team before they moved to Milwaukee to become the Brewers. I am too young to have seen Gil or anyone else from that era play but it's always sad to lose guys who put on a Brewers uniform.

RIP Gus.

Gil is only mentioned once in this article, but as you'll read, his base hit actually freed the concept of what would become "Bernie Brewer".

Gil was an original Seattle Pilot as well as an original Brewer, that will become, of course, a dwindling number in time over the next decade.

Darn time marching on...
