Yeah, I assume casual fans enjoy the miked up players.

It's still lame.

Part of it may be because Buck stinks at it.

Guessing part of the problem is national TV wants to ask click baity type stuff like Bryant possibly being traded. I have seen it in ST and it usually is way better because the aren't trying to ask the "tough questions".

It is just like the annoying dugout interviews for national televised games. They ask dumb stuff you'd expect in a post game presser.

I personally think if they want to stick with the onfield/in-game interviews with mic'd up players, the questions and back n' forth should have nothing to do with baseball - find out what players are into in terms of off-field hobbies/interests and let their personalities shine. It would be much more enjoyable if announcers weren't looking to act like postgame beat reporters with their questions.

Not saying it is my opinion, but the mic'd players are usually well liked and a big reason why people even watch the AS Game.

you think people watch he game to hear what the mic'd up players have to say?

if that is true, I find that to be sad.

For an all-star game, I think that is perfectly fine. It isn't supposed to be that serious. I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. casual fan appreciates that part of the game. I thought it was interesting. Especially when they had to tell Freeman to warn the runner he is mic'ed up.

What else do you watch it for?
