Charlie Donovan, Brewers 18-year-old unsigned 30th round pick, passes away

Charlie Donovan, Brewers 18-year-old unsigned 2015 30th round pick, passes away

This is so sad.

Via one of the links below --

Charlie Donovan, a University of Michigan shortstop recruit and Milwaukee Brewers draftee from the Chicago area, died overnight. He had deferred his enrollment to January or next year following a bout with mono over the summer (originally was a fall 2015 recruit).

Donovan would have been 19 years old December 12th.

Three-time POY Donovan passes away

University of Michigan Sports Blog -- only a few things are known at this time, among the many RIP postings you'll see are tidbits about a recent post his father made, the wonderings of a physician, and that his younger brother is also a fine player and UMichigan commit.

The Brewers' Illinois area scout is Harvey Kuenn, Jr. -- surely he'll be pretty shook up by this.

More from last June post-draft: Only one number doesn't explain Donovan

Our best to the Donovan family -- you may not have officially been a Brewer, but we mourn your loss with you.
