Trading Lind, your lone impact left-handed bat, is an $8 million salary dump for 2015. Nothing more. They add young arms 4-5 years or more from a potential big league appearance. Big deal. That's going to make me run out and buy tickets? Going to be a lot easier on the RH pitchers in the division to see a Brewer lineup with no power lefty bat in it. Brewers looking more like a 100 loss team. Enjoy!

1B Adam Lind traded to Seattle for RHPs Daniel Missaki, Carlos Herrera and Freddy Peralta. All are under 20 years old. #WinterMeetings

Missaki had TJ surgery last year it appears too. All righties from what I can tell. Anyone know anything of these guys?

Would like to see Seattle take on more of the risk in a deal like this. If we're getting back low minors pitchers, why not make them all PTNL far down the road? In other words, "we want 3 pitchers of these 6, and we'll let you know who we're taking after the minor league seasons are completed in 2016."

I've never seen a deal done like that before, but I'm wondering if something like that could ever be negotiated. Even if it's not for all 3, maybe 1 or 2 of them?

Per jsonline:

Missaki, 19, went 1-2 with a 3.41 ERA in six starts at Class-A Clinton in 2015. He walked only five batters in 34.1 innings pitched while producing 34 strikeouts. Opponents batted .244. His season was cut short as he underwent "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow in May.

Originally signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent on May 6, 2013, Missaki owns a career record of 7-6 with a 3.40 ERA in 24 games, including 20 starts, with opponents batting .236. He has recorded 111 strikeouts in just 106.0 innings pitched while issuing only 26 walks over his three seasons in the minor leagues.

Missaki, who was born in Japan before moving to Brazil as a young child, participated in the 2013 World Baseball Classic for Team Brazil, appearing in one game (0.1ip on March 5 vs. China). At 16 years old, he was the youngest player in the tournament that year. He had Tommy John surgery last May and is still recovering from that reconstructive elbow surgery.

Herrera, 18, spent his first professional season in the Dominican Summer League and went 4-2 with a 3.26 ERA in 14 starts. He limited opponents to a .228 batting average with 13 walks and 73 strikeouts in 80.0 innings pitched. He posted a 1.85 ERA over his final five starts of the season, going 2-1. Herrera was signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent on July 21, 2014.

Peralta, 19, went 2-3 with a 4.11 ERA in 11 games (9 starts) with the Rookie Arizona Mariners in 2015. He walked only eight batters in 57.0 innings pitched while producing 67 strikeouts (second in the Arizona League). Opponents batted .242. Originally signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent on April 18, 2013, Peralta has gone 6-12 with a 3.58 ERA in 36 games (31 starts) over three minor-league seasons. He has held opponents to a .239 batting average with 47 walks and 158 strikeouts in 163.1 innings pitched

I think you must name after 6 months so not really much to look at between now and then. It is possible of course, but even if it was mid season that costs a team like Seattle more risk. Who says they would want that?

So apparently the Cubs are taking a look at Lucroy. We would need to get the moon to trade Lucroy to the Cubs one would think. Of course they have a whole bunch of guys I would love to get. Assuming the guys at MLB are already off limits I would go for Underwood

Where is the source for this rumor?

I would LOVE to trade him to the Cubs. Why wouldn't we want to steal their promising prospects for a guy who won't be with them when we are eventually competing again or a guy they overpay to keep around as he gets old? This would be a dream and I wouldn't need anymore more than from another team.

Fine. Have Lucroy. But we get em all. Their top three, no FOUR prospects that we want plus Montero back to us.

We would need Carlos Edward Jr. and Willson Contaras for sure, Dylan Cease, Vogelbach, Pierce Johnson. or Almora would be other good guys to try to bring in

None of these prospects are good enough to headline a deal for Lucroy, IMO.

I agree. I want a Shelby Miller type of return for Lucroy especially if he is going to the Cubs.

They just spent just south of $300 million on 3 good but not great players, they need Lucroys contract badly.

Im not sure I want Stearns to make anymore trades based on the returns so far. Im HALF kidding.

Like, ever? Pretty difficult to run a team that way.

As for the Cubs, Vogelbach is a DH so no thank you, but I would start by asking for 4 of their top 10 prospects (however Milwaukee values them) for sure.

Not only would I start by asking for 4 of the top 10, id end with it too. Unless this is a game changing trade that is at a minimum the caliber of the Astros deal, there is NO reason to trade Luc now.

There are SO MANY reasons to trade Lucroy now. Only reason not to is if they just are getting low ball offers. His value will never get higher...never.

I think Javier Baez would have to be in the deal in any deal with the Cubs and Willson Contreras would have to be included as well. After that it would be pretty easy to find another 2 or 3 prospects that the Brewers really liked. I'm particularly fond of a couple of their young pitching prospects they've drafted out of HS the last couple years like Dylan Hudson and Bryan Hudson.

Lucs value isn't going to change between now and July 31 baring an injury.

This is our last big tradeable asset. Let's not mess this up. I want a Shelby Miller haul or we can play Luc at 1B if we have to.

Baring or an injury or continuing to be average at the plate. People still think that Lucroy will turn things around and be more in between his 2014 and 2015. If he starts the year off cold his value will plummet and be more in line with what Gomez/Fiers brought in. He can be healthy and still watch his value go down.

This is our last big tradeable asset. Lets not mess this up and hold onto it too long.

I would prefer Schwarber over Baez. If the Brewers are going to be trading with the Cubs and they are talking about Lucroy then Schwarber or Baez need to be the main piece coming back with other pieces also coming back. Not the ideal team to be trading Lucroy to as the majority of the Cubs prospects are already in the majors and already have about 1-year of service time gone.

Is Schwaber not a good catcher? Why don't the Cubs just catch him?
