Zunino was rushed. He struggled in his 1st full season where they threw him in AAA. So instead of getting him right in AAA they called him up after 50 games and feed him to the sharks. He is a better hitter than what he has shown so far. His K's are troubling through. Needs to be coached...something Jack Z didn't value much.

Is Peterson even a top 10 prospect for the Brewers. I almost have to slot him at like 12 or so, at best.

Jack Z was fired for drafting failures like Peterson and Zunino. Reminds me of old days when Bando lost his job for picking guys like Antone Williamson and Kyle Peterson (relation??).

Zunino was supposed to be a finished product coming out of Florida. After all he was the 3rd overall pick. He's regressed since his rookie year. Peterson peaked in hitter friendly Cal League.

My name is the same and my grandparents clipped out the article of Kyle Peterson being drafted by the Brewers and put it in my scrapbook as a kid. Wish he would've been a better baseball player but seems to have settled in nicely as a play by play announcer.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

confusing thing with Peterson is he played half of 2014 in AA, and played really good baseball. The he doesn't get promoted to AAA to start 2015 and the wheels just completely fall off. He OPS over .800 in Southern League at 22 for over 50 games. Hit .260/.335/.473 with 13 HRs in that time. Even while he only hit .206 in AFL he still OPS's over .800.

Like I will continue to say I am all for bringing in and hoping he bounces back. Outside of this year, all he has done is produce. I just don't know what to make of his sudden drop and deep drop off.

I am more disappointed in Zunino not being in the deal because I was hoping that was a sign of where Lucroy's future was headed.

Oh well back to dreaming.

Same ^

I had Zunino and his 30 HRs & 170 Ks in the line up with Gallo's 40 HRs and 170Ks :( (Lucroy to Rangers deal)

Miller Park Bleachers was going to be a great place to be!

Anybody think that Zunino being mentioned could be a slight indication that Lucroy's chance of being dealt went up? Or completely non-coincidental and just boosting the system.

It says something, but maybe they were viewing Zunino as a back up now and maybe a starter in the future if they can't/don't extend Lucroy. I am not sure how much it meant to the immediate future. For instance I don't think if they got Zunino they were going to say, "Alright we gotta go trade Lucroy."

Maybe it is a sign they don't want Lucroy long term...but I don't know if I would really call that news or surprising.

Can you imagine watching BP? WOW, that would be ridiculous.

At this point, I really don't see Lucroy being on the open day roster. Doesn't mean this week but sometime before season starts. We can just bring in too much for him now to build on for the future. With our division being so tough including the Reds starting to sell off their team to rebuild, NL teams like the Braves cleaning up trades like the Miller one, Phillies loading up a good system, Mets are young with deeper system, and so on....We can't fall behind in our rebuild and not trade Lucroy. You take every once you can get and move on.

Ken Rosenthal- Orioles out on Rangers’ Moreland and Brewers’ Lind. Showing interest in Korean OFer Hyun-Soo Kim. Also trying to get LH starting pitcher.

Well hopefully the Mariners "deal" doesn't fall through.

Count me in as a person a little disappointed that Zunino not being in on this. Would be an excellent guy to take over for Luc.

Zunino not part of the deal per Heyman tweet. Thankfully. Stearns needs to hold out for a lefty arm.

Luis Gohara is the guy I want. Long way off, but he can be a solid middle of the rotation lefty some day. Big workhorse type frame.

However I agree looking for a lefty doesn't make too much sense. Go with the best player.

Why can't they just take the best player currently offered right now, regardless of position, and acquire LHP in the draft, Luc trade, Davis trade next year, Peralta trade, Segura trade, etc.

Lind is a 1 year, decent rental. No guarantee that any semblance of a decent LHP is being offered. How would we have any idea? If you're mad that Peterson is what they take - why would you assume that somebody is offering a better LHP option?

The Mariners and Brewers have agreed to a trade that will send first baseman Adam Lind to Seattle in exchange for a pair of prospects, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports (Twitter link). Milwaukee will receive two lower-level prospects, per Heyman. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times tweets that neither is on Seattle’s 40-man roster.

About Peterson's prospect ranking. Remember 10 of the top 15 in a draft will typically just rate in a top 100. Peterson being a #12 at a barron 3b prospect market when drafted, yeah easy for people to rank him around 50. Then in the 80s. Then gone from ever being ranked.

I question why he played in only 97games in the minors last year after 123 the year before. Injuries? Could that maybe explain a drop in his numbers?

I'd be upset if the Brewers didn't get another piece besides Peterson.

Peterson was on the DL from Aug 9th - Sept 23rd pre milb.com. No reason why given. But that might also explain the poor AFL showing: rusty from not playing.

The AFL also seems to be much more pitching dominated this year for some reason.

So three low level pitchers for Lind? That doesn't sound like much of a deal?

Don't know who they are obviously, but getting a bunch of low level minor league guys?? Guys at that stage certainly could be high upside, but that's a long, long way to project to the majors too. I'll hold out to see who they are, but I would have thought we'd get someone at least somewhat close to the majors.
