Pat Murphy agrees to Bench Coach Position

Not sure when Brewers official confirmation will come, but it will, and to no surprise, Pat Murphy has agreed to be Counsell's bench coach.

 

Much has been written about their relationship, even before this piece, but here's Adam McCalvy from August.

Adam McCalvy stops short of providing details, but his tweet in response to Mass Hass' tweet essentially confirms this hire.

Another Brewers coaching slot filled. This one has been in the works since May.

Murphy seems like a solid veteran voice that can help out Counsell. I sometimes forget Counsell hadn't managed prior to last year - I think he handled the in game situations pretty well. Murphy gives him a guy that he trusts, and a guy that has been through the grinder over many seasons as a coach and manager.

I'd prefer the one on the field but both would be fine.
