Hey Guys.....thought I would drop by tonight, but it looks like slim pickings around here! If anyone drops in: What's the 411 on Pena? Is he the real deal? He looks it so far.

 

Pena has swing and miss stuff and he will rack up the K's but he is also very erratic and will walk a bunch of players to go along with his K's.

He hides the ball well, varies his FB from 92-93 down to an 88 mph sinker. Slider is devastating when it's on. His mechanics get easily out of whack, tends to fall away to 1B too much and miss his mark. He's been yanked back and forth between starting and the pen, but I think starting has helped him. I think "effectively wild" applies to him.
