Can we stop winning please

Bombers

Win! It makes watching the games much easier.

Haven't watched a game in about 2 months...there's nothing inspiring about this squad outside maybe Domingo Santana. I've been basking in the underdog Twins playoff run, which likely ended today.

Cheering for losers is for losers...hop off the wagon & get back on in the spring. Sorry, that was a very politically incorrect thing to say.

Hopping on and off bandwagons is pretty much the definition of being a loser when it comes to being a fan.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I didnt realize how close 3rd and 7th were in the standings, lol. Its clear that philly has #1 on lock, but Atlanta is only 3 ahead of us for #2 overall

Between the trades we made this season, a potential top 5 pick in next year's draft, and the opportunity to trade away guys like Lind and Lucroy, we should really have an infusion of young talent that could make for a bright future.

C'mon Stearns. You're set up... knock this out of the park.

I never quit being a Brewer fan. I just prefer to not live my life immersed in inadequacy and without hope. Try it sometime, it's not as bad as it sounds.

I almost never watch games, especially when they are playing like this. If a young guy is on the mound I will flip it on for a bit or if some other young talent like Michael Reed get a start I'll make time to throw it on. Life is busy enough, much rather be outside with the kids or etc. Yet everynight I'm on here, going through Twitter, bleacher. Report, checking box scores. I can talk intelligently about whole farm system from DSL up. So while I disagree with the watching losers is for losers....very little correlation in my opinion between how big a fan you are to amount of games you watch. Not watching doesn't make you a bandwagon fan. Simply not following a team cause they are losing does. If you post on this site....brewerFAN.net chances are good, you are still a fan

I don't mind the losing when the team is trying to rebuild---i've been enjoying watching some of the young guys---watching the young pitchers has been fun. This is a lot different form when they were losing and the pitchers were retreads from other teams. It's very easy to watch this group and get the feeling that they could be good in a couple years with an infusion of young talent, and thankfully, I've seen the front office doing what it can to try and add those players.

It's also been especially fun to watch Santana crank oppo bombs. Dude is inching closer to legit every day. A cubs fan friend of man apologized to me for doubting him last night. That was nice.

oppo bombs

I like that. :) We haven't coined a word here for a while, and that one seems worthy.

Is it best spelled "oppo bomb," "oppo-bomb," or "oppobomb"?

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

This is perfectly expressed. I'll just add that I'm warming to the idea of trading Davis too. I'd still rather move Braun to 1b, but if we don't do that, Davis probably helps us more as a trade chip than as a player. Also, I'd love Stearns to get whatever he can for Segura. Rivera can keep ss warm for Arcia and show us whether he has a future.

Just to make this a little on topic, I think I've achieved a state of zen repose re: wins and losses. I root for us to win while the game is happening, and then I appreciate the good consequences when we lose.

Not to be confused with an Opa-Bomb which is what happens after my Greek uncle has Taco Bell.

*Bump*

Can someone start a 'Can we stop losing please' and restore balance to the universe? :)

You need to dig up the 2015 Optimism thread. It's been a while since it was used.

After the trades we made this season, the possibility of getting a top five draft pick, and a new GM who will hopefully continue what has been as good a start to a rebuild as we could have hoped, I'm as optimistic about the franchise as I have been in years.

Me too. Tongue was firmly planted in cheek when I posted that. I think two years from now this organization could be something special.

Do the Brewers have Adam Lind still on Contract in 2016? You dont move Braun to 1b with a legit 1b in Lind at the position. 1b in all of baseball isn't a quality painted picture. Lind should be retained maybe extended a couple more seasons. But here, he's written off as Gone Yesterday. It's Braun to 1b like that happened yesterday. I just looked at Braun's stat page. He's never Played 1out at 1b in his professional career. Until he's manning 1b in a Preseason game, He's a corner OF. I'd wish we'd stop penciling him in like Braun has played multiple seasons at 1b and it'll be like picking up a bike and riding it after a few years not.

Lind is 32 with back problems. You could maybe make the argument that we should keep him if we're good, but we're not and won't be for a few years, so add some prospects by trading him.

Other than Lind, there's no LH power in the lineup and none close to the major leagues. Lind's worth more to the Brewers than he is to most teams who are already set at 1B. Developing young RH hitters when the opposing pitchers settle in by not seeing any threat from the left side? You are doing them a disservice. For $8 million, he's worth having around another year. His approach at the plate is something young hitters can learn from too.
