wish list for next year; a pitching coach that actually does somethiing. I can't remember the last time we had a coach that appeared to make an impact with our pitchers.

Wow, through six innings, Francisco Lindor has stolen three bases, and Abraham Almonte two. They had four combined coming into tonight's game. Is Lucroy asleep behind the plate?

I saw two of them and Lucroy's throws were right on the money. The Brewers staff just doesn't give a crap about having a quick delivery. I've noticed Nelson and Peralta are huge offenders of this.

I can't for the life of me figure out why we won't just give up on Logan Schafer.

Because he puts the ball in play?

Only guy who actually came through with RISP tonight.

He puts the ball in play, right to a fielder who throws him out. Between 2013 and 2014, he's hitting .186 with a 53 OPS + in 201 plate appearances. And with RISP? In 17 plate appearances this year (prior to tonight) with runners in scoring position, he's had 1 hit, 1 walk. An .077 AVG, a .200 OBP, a 0.77 SLG, and a .277 OPS.

He's terrible. He has a -0.6 WAR this year. He has played 263 games in the Major Leagues, and has a 0.5 career WAR to show for it. We'd be better off picking a random fan out of the stands, and sticking them in the lineup instead of Logan Schafer.

Mark Reynolds has a -0.3 WAR this season and 0.0 WAR over the last four seasons, Pete Kozma has a -0.6 WAR this season and career 0.4 WAR (buoyed by a ridiculous small sample in 2012), John Jay has a -0.4 oWAR this year (I'm not buying the dWAR and overall 0.1 WAR)... every team has backups that are replacement level or worse. Schafer is one of them. What matters is what a team's starters are, not their backups.

Then shame on those other poor, idiotic GM's that continue to cycle through crappy players. I never understand why GM's are so afraid to try other players.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
