Good for him, I never thought he was incompetent or a bad guy, he's just in a similar mold to most baseball people.

Bad guy? No. Flawed as a manager? Clearly. Under Roenicke, the Brewers had their two worst months in franchise history which is amazing considering some of the rosters they've had through the years, and a collapse of historic proportions. Whether it was the atmosphere in his clubhouse, his laid back California demeanor and acceptance of repeated boneheaded plays, or whatever, players did not respond to him when things got a bit tight. In fact, the players under him tied themselves in knots pressing harder.

Brewers also had their best months in franchise history under RRR

An article also calling the timing "weird" from the Los Angeles Times today:

http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/dodgersnow/la-sp-dn-dodgers-why-add-ron-roenicke-now-20150817-story.html

Out of the box thought: Perhaps the Dodgers value the relationship that RR has with Greinke and feel like that would be somehow useful for them in their playoff push? No idea, pure speculation.

As the author says, it's hard to figure out the Dodgers' motivation. Previous third base coach Lorenzo Bundy is moving to the dugout, and assistant hitting coach John Valentin will be out of uniform and the dugout during games.

It seems to me that Valentin is simply the odd man out; it could be that he'll back in uniform once another coach can suit up in September.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

They should have, the rosters during those months are some of the best rosters the Brewers have ever had...

Maybe this means we no longer have to draft RR's kids, and now the Dodgers do?
