Little League World Series

Dragonbait

Exactly, that can never be tolerated. Frankly, it's one of the most important lessons in baseball- keeping your emotions in check. You're only as good or bad as the next AB, the next ball hit to you.

OT a bit, but when I coached Pop Warner I has=d a kid come to the sideline and throw his helmet. I explained that's not acceptable, not the actions of a leader (which he was), etc. Later in the game he did it again and he was benched the rest of the game. Guess what? Never happened again. (Football Mom wasn't too happy, but that's a whole other story.)

I saw a lot of kids strike out, followed by a sound pounding of the bat in the dirt... Turned me off to be honest. Yes, I know they are just kids, but kids on a BIG stage. They should be taught that how you act in public goes a long way in how people perceive you in regular, normal life.

Newsflash human beings have emotions!

Oh yah sure...but in all my time playing baseball I very rarely saw any kid start slamming equipment on the field...and at that age never. Sure in the dugout, but that is a lot different...and if the coach caught you doing that you made good friends with the bench really quick. I can't even imagine what would happen if I slammed something on the field.

These kids bahavior is horrible and the coaches do nothing about it. Actually they typically comfort the kids afterwards.

When I was playing at the age roughly 15 years ago everyone did it, myself included, and coaches rarely ever said anything. I don't remember it happening when I played in high school and the high school kids I coach now don't do it. I think it's probably just part of being that age.
