Best ever Power 50

NYChez
They put a WS champion caliber team out in 2011. It just didn't work out. Bad luck....

No, they weren't, you're welcome to believe that was the case but it simply wasn't true as the Cards blew the Crew away in the NLCS and it wasn't a close series. The run differential was horrendous for a 6 game series.

Bad luck? Hardly.

They did go 9-9 against the Cardinals in the regular season and outscored them. The Cardinals got hot at the right time.

Not to mention the Cardinals were on one of the hottest streaks seen. I mean it's not like they came back from 10.5 games back in September or anything like that.....wait nevermind. No one was going to stop Cardinals. When a team gets that hot and you mix in terrible decisions, it will only lead to bad outcomes. Brewers won 96 games and were two games away from a World Series, I think that makes them a World Series caliber team. The fact they lost to the hottest team in baseball and soon to be champs doesn't discredit the whole season and roster we had put together.

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

Are you serious? If you make the NLCS and bring it to 6 games you definitely have a World Series caliber team. You are taking one series to say a team wasnt close to being a world series team. So if a team loses the world series in say 5 games they werent close to being a World Series championship caliber team? Talk about small sample size

It's easy to forget how good Marcum was for mos of that season. He even carried the rotation for a stretch. But he ran out of gas by the time the playoffs came around, and I really believe the Brewers would have won the WS if he was the same pitcher in Oct.

Yea, game 6 in the NLCS. Up 1-0 with home field in both the NLCS and WS, makes the team a WS caliber team to me. The other team needed their bullpen with a bunch of no names guys to all of a sudden become unhittable because we beat up their starters every game. We had the better team, they got hot at the right time and that specific team was a bad match up for us with how they had Gallardo's number and just overall were always under our skin.
