That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Like the new pitcher. Pounds the strike zone. Looks like he belongs.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Rizzo should never have come up with two guys on base. In the first inning when Rizzo hit the grounder and Gennett was playing into the OF grass, his only play would have been at 2B. But for some reason Segura didn't go to 2B; he just stood there. That cost an out which would have ended that inning. Different batters in subsequent innings, and Garza isn't pitching to Rizzo in that inning.

Speaking of Segura, the next priority in the offseason is to start moving guys with poor plate discipline, and that's Segura and Gennett. Maybe not Gennett as they need some LH balance, but since he can only play 2B his only value is that he's young, cheap, and under team control for a while. Might be better to move him while he still has that value.

We shouldn't even bother pitching to Rizzo right now. He's the only guy that is really killing us. Its bad enough Lohse is starting tomorrow. I say don't throw him anything he can hit even if you walk him 4 times. I'd rather see him standing at 1st base than trotting around the bases while Cub fans in Miller Park are cheering for another HR. :tongue
