...Maybe a guy like Lind can be moved in the winter during the hot stove. A couple of my Cardinals buddies claim their side of the story is the Brewers wanted more than Kaminsky for Lind. They are upset they didn't get Lind instead of Moss....

For all the speculation about Lind to St. Louis, Haudricourt mentioned after the deadline dust settled that the Cardinals weren't ever going hard after Lind.

It could be that the Cardinals inquired, but if Melvin was even "motivated to move him," then quite possibly St. Louis wasn't willing to meet a logically strong asking price (for that production/cost combo and the option year).

There was no urgent need to trade Lind if the right deal wasn't there to be had.

In the end, if St. Louis never seriously pursued Lind, then the "logical match" most everyone saw as being there was really only a matter of media- & fan-speculated match-making.

In 6.1 IP so far, the only hit Broxton has given up was the HR to Khris Davis. Two walks, WHIP of 0.474.

One earned run, but somehow that translates into a FIP of 4.53.

Well 1 HR in just over 6 innings will do that. He has an xFIP of 3.38 which is inline with what he had with the Brewers.
