That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Finally playing good ball and today's game isn't on tv. Lovely...
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Ok just stop with Lohse already. Talk about trying to ruin this nice streak the Crew is having.

I wish Lind was 25. Would've loved to watch him play for 5 seasons or so.

A major league team running Lohse out there every 5th day is just a disgrace. He isn't going to "figure it out", he's just going to continue to suck up one side and down the other. Get rid of this clown.

Gotta be disheartening to a team that has pulled itself off the mat and has been playing very well as of late to know this is what they'll get every 5th game.

Thus hopefully ends the Brewer career of one Kyle Lohse who joins a long list of FA vet signings that ended up on scrap heap:

Jeff Suppan, Braden Looper, Doug Davis, Randy Wolf, Kyle Lohse

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Kyle.

Isn't one league-average WAR worth about $7M? I'm not a Fangraphs guy, but BR gives him a cumulative WAR of about 4.5 over the last three seasons (5.8 over his first two, -1.2 for this season). If so, that's a value of about $32M, and the Brewers signed him for $33M. They got about what they paid for. Remember, he was pretty good the last two seasons.

Lohse's signing cost the Brewers a first round pick, but it will also result in the Brewers having a much better 2016 first round pick.

This is an interesting thought. They gave up the 18th overall pick in 2013, and given the number of teams that have 42-45 wins right now let's assume they would have had the 14th overall pick in 2016 w/o Lohse. Using bonus pool dollars as a proxy, that's roughly $5M. Assuming the Brewers get the 6th overall pick by using Lohse this year, that's roughly $4M. The difference will be about $1M, or roughly a mid-2nd round pick that it cost to sign him.

I think this was probably Lohse's last start for the Brewers. I don't think they'll find a trade partner for him but when Peralta comes back, they'll release him.

Sadly it appears you are mistaken.....

CC sticking with Lohse. "His track record keeps him [in the rotation]. He’s had two darn good years here, and you hope he gets it going."

They say that now but what about when Peralta comes back? Sure they could option Knebel or something but even then, Lohse likely isn't keeping his rotation spot at the very least.

They just need to DFA Lohse and get it over with. He just doesn't have it any more. You couldn't get a bag of baseballs back in return for him at this point and running him out there every 5th day is just hurting this team unless they're intentionally trying to tank. ANY starter pitching in Colorado right now would be a better option.

Someone will probably kick the tires on him next Spring and offer him a minor league deal. For now, thank him for the two solid years he gave us and give him the $5 million sunk cost left in his contract and wish him luck going forward.
