BILOXI – The Biloxi Shuckers took advantage of the wildness of Chattanooga starting pitcher Brett Lee in the fourth inning, and rolled to a 3-0 victory over the Lookouts on Thursday night at MGM Park.

Meanwhile, five Shuckers pitchers – Wily Peralta, Derek Eitel, Brooks Hall, Manny Barreda and Mike Strong – combined on a four-hit shutout.

The game was played before a crowd of 3,547 fans.

Eitel (1-0) picked up the pitching victory in relief.

Biloxi jumped to a 3-0 lead after four innings, scoring three runs on one hit in the bottom of the fourth. Victor Roache’s RBI walk produced the first run off Brett Lee. After Niko Goodrum’s error at third upped the lead to 2-0, the Shuckers added one more on a bases-loaded walk by Parker Berberet.

Peralta worked the first 3 2/3 innings, giving up two hits and one walk, while striking out three. He gave way to Eitel in the fourth. Peralta was doing a rehab start from Milwaukee.

“It’s always good to have a rehab (pitcher) set the tone like Wily Peralta,’’ Shuckers manager Carlos Subero said. “It was a great pitching performance (by the staff).

“We took advantage of those walks in that inning. We only had two hits going into that inning.’’

The Shuckers avenged an extra-inning loss to the Lookouts on Wednesday.

“Especially when we had our little streak broken,’’ Subero said. “We had not lost at home in extra innings. It was a great game (Wednesday). We came back twice after we had an early lead. Tonight it was good to bounce back and get a win.’’

The Shuckers pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts.

Lee (0-4) took the loss.

Both teams each had four hits.

The two teams meet in Game 3 of the series Friday at 7:00 PM.
