While each affiliate gets a few days off each season, the Link Report essentially gets one (sorry Brad, who includes DSL duties among his chores here).

For the most part, our travel schedule is lighter, though ;).

Huge thanks to Seth, Brad, and Tim for being so dedicated again this season.

It's one thing to plug along when only the four full-season affiliates are going through April and May, but once you add the DSL, the draft signing updates, and the rookie league squads, it's an all-out team effort.

Thanks to all for visiting, reading, and chiming in within all our Minor League Forum threads.

(And yes, I'll accept your thanks as well, no need to type it, it's implied love :)).

Be sure to check back here later tonight and in the AM, as we'll probably get a tidbit or two to add (did you see our "Brewer Minor League Free Agents After the 2015 Season" thread today?). But for the most part, we're going to kick back for once, and enjoy the big league All-Star Game with you. Enjoy.

Brewers taking aim at winning record

RYAN COLLINGWOOD, Helena Independent Record

It's been two years since the Helena Brewers have eclipsed the .500 mark.

The way Milwaukee's rookie affiliate has been playing lately, though, there's a chance it could end its streak of futility this week.

After winning back-to-back home games two weeks ago preceding a two-week road trip, Helena (10-12) has now won seven of its last 11 games going into Wednesday's twinbill against the Grand Junction Rockies at Kindrick Legion Field.

Due to three rain cancellations at Grand Junction last week, only one of which was made up, the Brewers will be playing seven games at Kindrick in a five-day span. The Brewers will have another doubleheader with Grand Junction on Friday before facing Orem on Saturday and Sunday.

Both doubleheaders Wednesday and Friday -- the Brewers and Rockies face each other just once Thursday night -- will feature two seven-inning games.

The Brewers' excursion saw the Brewers split their four-game series at Billings (10-14) and split a doubleheader at Grand Junction (13-11) before winning its three-game series at Orem (16-10) 2-1.

University of Tennessee product Drake Owenby (0-0, 1.80 ERA) will be getting the start for the Brewers in the first game on Wednesday, followed by J.B. Kole (0-1, 5.06 ERA) in the nightcap. The Rockies will be debuting a pair of fresh-out-of-high-school rookie arms making their Pioneer debut in third-round pick Javier Medina and second-round pick Peter Lambert.

DENSON HONORED: Helena Brewers first baseman David Denson has been named the Pioneer League Player of the Week.

Denson (.333 BA) was recently on a tear at the plate in a three-game stretch, going 7 for 14 with three homers, seven RBIs, two doubles and five runs.

THE STREAK IS ALIVE: Before getting called up to the Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers two weeks ago, former Brewers shortstop Blake Allemand had an 11-game hitting streak.

Second baseman Luis Aviles (.380 BA) exceeded that mark Monday night, stretching his hitting streak to 12 games.

TALK ABOUT BOUNCING BACK: Monte Harrison, the third-rated prospect in the Brewers' organization, was pulled from Sunday night's game at Orem in the fifth inning after suffering back spasms.

The next day, however, on the first pitch of his first at-bat, Harrison connected on a solo homer to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead before taking the game 8-5.

PIONEER LEAGUE REPRESENTED AT HOMER DERBY: Monday night's MLB All-Star Game Home Run Derby featured a pair of erstwhile Pioneer League baseball players battling it out in the final round.

In the end, though, it was former Billings Mustang and current Cincinnati Red Todd Frazier who had 15 homers to former Ogden Raptor and Los Angles Dodger Joc Pederson's 14 for the title.

Manatees home for seven games

Florida Today

The Brevard County Manatees return home for seven straight games after a long road trip.

The Manatees are 7-11 in the second half of the season, but 10 of the first 13 games in the month of July have been on the road. After a day off, the team will host Fort Myers in a four-game series beginning Tuesday at 6:35 (5:35 Central).

Cy Sneed is scheduled to make his third start with the Manatees. He’s 1-1 with a 4.09 ERA, but is coming off a strong seven-inning outing against Tampa.
