I think bringing in Monroe is a solid deal. He is not the greatest defender in the world but he brings an offensive game the Bucks haven't gotten from the center position in a really long time. MCW, Middleton, Parker, Giannis, and Monroe is a solid lineup with a ton of upside. The bench should be pretty soild as well with Zaza, Mayo, Henson, Dudley, and the rookie. Hopefully Giannis continues to develop a better outside shot and Parker comes back strong.

I also could get behind trading MCW; I would even be fine starting Vasquez who can actually make a shot. MCW has his strengths but a PG who can't shoot at all really puts a strain on the rest of the offense.

Bucks are going to have to make a couple other moves at some point...the roster is over the limit I believe. I'd imagine this means likely dumping Plumlee or Bayless, maybe both. Won't get much of anything back, but they'll need to do something.

Be interesting to see if they do in fact wind up resigning Marshall at some point. I think he actually fits in better at PG than anyone on the current roster if they really want to play up tempo.

Love the starting lineup and the bench actually goes really deep....Zaza, Henson, Dudley, Vasquez, Vaughn, (and at the moment, Enis, Plumlee and Bayless).

I like this. They needed to get a big man, and they got one. Monroe is an inside scoring threat and rim protector and he just seems to be a better fit than Jordan (and less costly).

Would have preferred Portis, but Monroe is a guy who we know right away can put up 15/10, and is a good passer for a big.

It might depend on how they process the paperwork. if they technically sign Monroe before Middleton, they can then go over the cap to sign Middleton. I mean as long as they're willing to go over and possibly pay some tax. A trade of Mayo shouldn't surprise anyone to dump salary. I'd rather have just kept Mayo rather than get Vasquez and give up a pick. We'll see though, I think more moves might be on the way. Wouldn't be surprised on MCW moving too

The MCW trade stuff drives me nuts. He is entering his third yeR, really turned it on toward the end of the season, and him not being able to shot means nothing! He can pass with the best of them, play defensive with the best of them, and attack rim with the best of them. Kidd needs to continue to improve his turnovers but he has what we need him to do! Along with crazy size/length combo for a PG.

Last year he was forced to shot for 76ers and Bucks.... No one else to do it....Ersan, Middleton, Mayo....sometimes Dudley or Bayless may offer something. Middleton was only consistent shooter. Giannis couldn't shot to save his life, Parker was out, no bigs could score down low. He had pressure on him, this year he won't. Parker, Middleton, Monroe are scoring threats, a Giannis if improves his shooting could be biggest weapon.

I get that there was talk about trading MCW at the draft, but I don't understand why trading him is suddenly more of an option now that we've signed a center. We probably need to clear one of MCW, Mayo and Vasquez, but unless the coaching staff doesn't think he fits, why would it be MCW when the other two are one one-year deals?

Right now it seems like Henson and Mayo are our most tradeable assets. Wonder how they'd look packaged with a 1st rounder?

People want to trade mcw because he can't shoot from 3, from 2 or from the line for a pg. He also has a poor assist to turnover ratio at less than 2 to 1. If he is that good at attacking the rim he should shoot better than 43 percent from 2. That is no good.

I wish the Bucks could find a way to get Ty Lawson. Better shooter in every aspect, better passer, and less turnover prone. He is on the block and would give the Bucks quite the rotation

We look at our roster we have 4 guys who all possess skills to score around 20 points a game in Parker, Giannis, Middleton, and Monroe. If Giannis can continue to develop a his shooting he is a weapon that could be the top guy (his issue right now is he can't shot so ppl can just play off him....if they can't do that anymore.... He will take over. We got some shooters on bench as well. MCW doesn't need to do much. Really he had less than half a season with a real coach to work with him. Gotta believe Kidd has ability to bring out and get out the most in MCW

Pretty excited about the roster right now- All of your starters are 25 or under and full of talent, and the bench has a nice mix of veterans and youth/potential.

Obviously a couple more moves to come, but this was a nice splash for the Bucks (and always nice to beat out LA and NY for a big free agent).

It's Dudley to Wiz. Surprising but he has a bigger contract so that's why I guess.

I was suggesting trading Mcw because this signing means you might as well go for it right now rather than wait for Mcw to improve. I agree with everyone that Mcw has promise and that's why I would've preferred waiting to see how three of the young guys develop before making a big signing

I see this year as a combo of "going for it" and developmental. No question the Bucks should be better. I don't know about getting out of the East, but a first round home series and advancing to the second would seem to be a successful year. MCW has the inside track, clearly, but Jason has options if needed. This time next summer I'd before moving MCW if his game doesn't advance.

A report from onmilwaukee.com has said that Kidd will soon take over the GM role from Hammond in addition to being the coach.

The article also noted that Hammond wanted to take Portis in the draft (me, too) but Kidd wanted Vaughn and won the argument. The article also noted that this may have been what brought Kidd to Milwaukee in the first place, an agreement to eventually get the dual role.

This is a terrible move. Hammond has done a great job and the team is finally moving in the right direction. It was rumored that's why he left the New Jersey Nets and one of the big hesitations people here had when he first came on. We know Kidd is friends with one of the owners, to which I can't help but be reminded of Sal Bando, who is friends with the owner--do a bad job but have so much power that it becomes harder and harder to finally make the decision to move on to someone else.

Terrible move.

Titles don't matter all that much. I would bet Kidd has a huge say in personnel decisions, and maybe even gets his way and has the final decision. There will be rumors forever, but the million dollar question is who wanted Vaughn, Vasquez, Monroe, etc. My guess is Vasquez was Kidd's call, Monroe was a mutual decision, and have no idea about Vaughn. But again, that's speculation. Kidd is in a perfect position, he has a huge say in decisions but if anything goes south he can say "Well I wasn't the GM..." My bet is once they become the Sonics he will officially take over the GM job.

I have tried to stay optimistic. But when I see what a struggle it was to get Miller Park built and Lambeau updated, hard not to be realistic. Those teams have much bigger followings, and it was a battle to the end. I know the public portion for the new arena is much less, no sales tax, etc. But still an uphill battle. Then I saw the plans, listened to the politicians and I was cautiously optimistic. Now that it has been removed from the state budget, I'm back to being realistic.

How many up-state politicians will vote for this? Honestly, I think the city and county should have come up with the full $250MM. They are the ones that directly benefit from the arena and the surrounding development that comes with it. I just don't see anyone in Milwaukee fighting very hard for this.

I don't understand why owners with a combined net worth of $3 billion are pushing for public funding other than to save money. The fear mongering and scare tactics are absurd. Government brought this on itself by getting into bed to fund businesses in the past. I am a Bucks fan and want them to stay but this is not in the purview of what government should be concerning themselves with.
