Didn't expect to see Jungmann consistently hitting 93-4. Not throwing the curve for strikes, but keeping it unhittable. Nice changeup for K in the 4th.

I have to believe the HBP was on purpose given the antics on the first two pitches (a strike and barely a ball)

Haven't see the whole game but he's doing pretty well according to his stat line. This team needs Jungmann to be the next guy. Peralta-Nelson-Jungmann-Fiers and with Crazy and Wagner around this team could have very cheap starting pitching going forward.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

jericho...that's easy for us fans to say. But given the dancing around in the box that the stupid catcher was doing on a strike AND given that he's been the NL's hottest hitter for the last 6 weeks, a HBP is more efficient than a walk. Walking him would have been considered solid strategy with 1st base open and weak hitters Mercer and Liriano to follow.

Problem is cutch can turn fast on inside pitches, and roped that same curve for a double in the corner

Jungmann looks like another middle of the rotation option for the future. Can help keep our starting rotation cheap in the future if he can put it together.

Though I am not convinced with how good his stuff is and with that kind of height control has always been an issue. He will need to polish his command since he doesn't have the stuff to get away with a lot of bad pitches.

I feel like that was set up cause the first one, which was a strike, was called a ball, so when they went back there he had to get more of the plate. The first 2 had cutch turning and ducking and they were strikes (although one was called a ball).

Having mlb / all star caliber defense has helped jungmann. Segura, gomez, rami all have had plays this game that probably saved a couple runs.
