Day game plus day job responsibilities means you just get lineups from hawing.

That bottom half of the order is pretty Skywaukee if you ask me.

really looking forward to watching Peterson & Perez in this game. Love watching fringe players/bubble players battle when they get their opportunity in the show.

Why on earth do you rest your leading RBI guy when you are struggling to score runs? I'm sure the teams still within range of St. Louis love to see that, not. Braun is 31, not 41 and tomorrow's an off day. Matheny's not resting Holliday.

Does Counsell have it in for Nelson? He rested Braun in Nelson's next to last start too. The result? A 2-1 loss when Nelson was terrific but got no support.

I predict another shutout loss with that lineup. It's almost like they are trying to lose games which is why I don't plan on attending a game anytime soon.

I think it was yesterday's game where Braun tripped over 1B. Looked like it hurt. He might be trying to give him 2 days off rest that.

Per Adam McCalvy it is the thumb issue with Braun but was a preplanned procedure. Should be back Sunday.

So the bench is weakened by one other guy for four games?? This is the kind of stuff that drives me nuts.

DH in Minnesota so the bench isn't really that important but it still does seem kind of dumb.

On the radio pregame they said cryotherapy maintenance procedure and there has been no flare-up or any cause for concern.

Excuse me for being cynical, but I don't believe it.

I don't remember anyone ever saying there would be times throughout the season that he would have to take 5 games off for maintenance...

I hope I am wrong, I truly do.

Shut up Bill. Who cares what kind of a "class act" Matt Holiday is.

I'm amazed how much arguing and complaining hitters get away with now compared to what they did even 5 years or so ago. Holliday ran his mouth leaving the box, then stopped and argued for quite a while before FINALLY getting tossed. Yeah, he was right, it was a ball. He still didn't show much class or self control out there on the field where it matters.

When you've got tools like Joe West out there, can you blame them?

Almost nothing about Braun being on the team makes me happy anymore. This is just another log to the fire.

I'm not defending West by any stretch. I'm just saying guys get away with a whole lot of chirping and arguing on balls and strikes in instances where not too long ago they would have had to go hit the showers and learn to keep their trap shut.
