2015 Draft Pick Discussion, Rounds 1-5

All of those college pitchers are right there in front of the Brewers, if that's truly what they want - I hope it isn't.

I like Betts, Cameron, Hayes and Whitley, and if the medicals checked out, Aiken and Allard.

There are six guys right there I'd be happy with, with only two picks in the way....ok, ok, it'll be Kaprielian.

Are the Brewers possibly in a position to take Cameron, and a lower guy in the supplemental round and maybe play a little bit of chicken over the bonus? You'd potentially have huge flexibility next year if he didn't sign with almost surely a top 10 pick to go with 16.

We might be able to scrounge up $3M or $3.5M, but not if he's sticking to his reported $5M demand.

I don't see why Cameron is standing so strong though. Surely his dad is a millionaire dozens of times over, why does he need the money?

Damn, really wanted him if we were going position player. Now I want Allard or Nikorak, whomever is left.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Thought Trenton Clark would be off the board by this point, he is BPA according to BA and Fangraphs, but I didn't spend much effort watching his scouting videos.

A top prep bat, but hes a bit of a tweener.

I would hate to get a college pitcher. Those guys get abused in college.

Ben Sheets worked out a lot better than J.M. Gold, Mike Jones, Mark Rogers, and Jeremy Jeffress.

Why do you continually ignore draft position? We aren't drafting in the top 10 where the best college pitchers typically go. Last year was a year to grab an impact college pitcher after the top 10 spots, this isn't one of those years.

Regardless the Brewers haven't hit many HRs with college pitchers in the first round either.

1) Because I was responding to a post that mentioned nothing about draft position.

B) Because, with the exception of Rogers, I picked players that were picked around where the Brewers are picking this year (Gold - #13, Sheets - #10, Jones - #12, Jeffress - #16). Rogers, being a #5 overall pick and a HS pitcher, also helps prove my point. Not sure how that ignores draft position.

3) Because prior to 2010, when draft pick protection was implemented for players who didn't sign, many HS pitchers were drafted later than they should have been because of signability. Thus many college pitchers would have been drafted later than they actually were if the rules of today's draft were in place.

4) Because the original post mentioned nothing about comparing different draft years.

If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.
