I haven't had the opportunity to watch many games this season, but Jeffress looked filthy last night. Closer (trademark) material for sure.

Gonna miss Gomez. Sure is fun to watch play the game.

That was a fun inning.

It's a little troubling that Braun only has 1 HR to left though.

I'm not really concerned about that. He's got 24 HR to left from 2011-present, so it's not new. He only had 4 to left in 2011 MVP year.

wow 8ip vs this Tigers lineup. I dont think Id have let Nelson face Kinsler/Cabrera again. Counsell may have gotten lucky by letting Nelson pitch the full inning. Cespedes could have damaged there. Great come back by Nelson to K him. Is it official to call Nelson the ace of the team now?

Take his worst start away from Nelson. His ERA would be 2.60 for his other 7starts.

Series win against a first place team. Going for the sweep tomorrow!

Yeah I'd noticed some talk about lack of pull HRs for Braun, and was thinking how I didn't remember him going to left a whole lot after the first 3-4 years, so did a little investigating. I'm out in Bethel, AK. Looking forward to a summertime trip to Wisconsin and seeing some Brewers and Timber Rattlers games.

Just wanted to show 3 pictures:

Last year he completely lost the ability to hit the inside pitch for power.

It looks like it's coming back this season.

I don't have any stats to back it up, but wouldn't the fact that nearly all of his HR have been to center or right seem to indicate that while he still has power....he's lost the ability to really turn on a baseball? He crushed that hanging slider in NY, but the only other pitches he seems to drive are on the outer half where he can hit them the other way.

I don't know why teams don't just bust him inside pitch after pitch until he shows he can actually do something with it.

That Ramirez bomb was a thing of beauty..talk about sitting on a pitch.

That pitch was straight out of the homerun Darby.

Did you see the grin on his face when he got in the box? And then Sanchez just grooves him a hanger that probably half of us fans would have gotten out of the infield.

Not a bad Brewer debut for Knebel tonight, too.
