Josh Hamilton

No way. The guy is a nightmare even if the Angels were willing to pay $24M of the $25M owed to him. He is a multiple time loser and has no business being on the Brewers. He is ripping apart the clubhouse apparently and thats the last thing we need compared to the very slight chance he becomes a 30 HR guy again.

Sorry, I'm not kidding at all. I see Davis as the type of bat that kills offenses and defenses. He's possibly the most brutal outfielder that I've ever seen and his boom or bust approach at the plat annoys the hell out of me. Just my opinion though...

WAAAAAAYYYYYY to early to tell on Davis. The guy can hit. Sure he has a noodle arm but he can be alright over there in LF. If anything, Hamilton to 1B for us could make sense if we didn't have Lind. Other than that, sorry folks, we do not have the DH.

He is not even that bad in the OF. I would say slightly below average and I am not that big of a fan of his defense.

Someone not around for Carlos Lee's time in LF?

"Khris Davis is the Worst defensive OF ever" is such a talking point that i'm sick of hearing. Is his defense REALLY OUR PROBLEM? I wonder if he's responsible for the guys in the infield (hello Garza and Reynolds) who forget how many outs are in an inning as well.

I think Garza just didn't want to throw it to second for fear he would whip it into center field.

He's below average defensively, but far from the worst ever. Just my opinion, but I think he's fine at chasing down fly balls. He will occasionally have one clank out of his glove, but he's also capable of making good plays (like the one a few games back where he bounced off the fence). His biggest deficiency by far is his arm, which allows players to take some extra bases on him that they wouldn't take on most OF. That may be enough that the Brewers eventually trade him when he starts getting expensive if they have an in-house replacement, but it definitely isn't enough to put him anywhere near the "worst OF ever" lists.

"The most successful (people) know that performance over the long haul is what counts. If you can seize the day, great. But never forget that there are days yet to come."

I was around for Carlos Lee's tenure and he too was brutal. That seems to be a Brewers MO for some reason :) The reason that I find his defense to be inexcusable is the fact that baserunners can run wild on that noodle-arm. Singles becoming doubles kill pitchers' abilities to stay out of the big innings and knowing that a runner will score from 2nd without even a throw has to be demoralizing for a pitcher.

Scenario: Single turned in to double because of Davis's defense. Another single to LF...run scores.

With a semi-capable LF'er and there's a runner on 1st and 2nd and the pitcher still has a chance for a clean inning. Not with Davis in LF...

Also, he is 100% independent from Garza and Reynolds (who by the way isn't even on the team any more). I was talking LF...not infield or total team defense.

I'd take him in LF every day of the week and twice on Sunday. No. Questions. Asked.

At what price??

HHe's coming off back to back seasons of .739 and .745 OPS, he can't stay clean, and he can't stay off the DL.

He isn't the hitter he once was (he's 34), and he's owed a dumptruck of money for the next three years.

There's absolutely nothing about this that says "go out and get this guy". We have a guy in LF right now, who is outproducing Hamilton, and who will likely continue to do so, without the 90 million dollar contract, drug problems, and multiple DL stints per year.

Hamilton at $8-12 million would be a bargain. Just not sure where he would play right now. He'd make a better 4th OF than Parra. He could play 2 days per week in LF, 1 in CF, 1 in RF (Plus the inevitable Gomez and Braun injuries)

Parra & Garza for Hamilton, Kyle Kubitza and $45 million in cash to pay for half of Hamilton's contract.
