Opening Day presale

I had a friend forward me their e-mail after they decided not to buy tickets, I bought 4 terrace reserved seats in 2 sets of 2. Both pairs are in the same section and row with 2 seats between them.

I only know 2 people who got the winning e-mails, about 10-15 others I talked to got the losing e-mails.

I was able to get 4. Took awhile to get in and then I was really frustrated trying to buy tickets.

It kept telling me no tickets were available in sets of 4 for any sections. I'd look at the seat map and it would have plenty of seats. Turns out it wouldn't let you buy any sets of tickets that would leave single seats. So there was a bunch of sets of 3/5 available, but the sets of 5 I couldn't get 4 of (or two sets of two because it left a single seat). It was pretty frustrating. I don't know if this was a mistake or not. But it's what was happening.

Then as I was playing around with it, obviously more seats kept being purchased. I finally did find a set of 4 (on the seat map, not when just looking for best available) in section 410.

It was really annoying because there really were a lot of seats open in much better locations, but it wouldn't let me purchase any of them. I don't know why the Brewers care. They will sell all the single seats for Opening Day without any problem. When I first did get in there, there were a few groups of seats in the lower box, but I didn't want to pay that much for my drunken friends. After about 5 minutes though, everything left was Terrace Reserved.

Ditto. I was about to smash my computer this morning trying to do it. I could either get obstructed view or $200 diamond box. No thanks on either. All I wanted was 4 bleacher tickets. When I finally realized I wasn't going to get them, I settled for Terrace.

But then I had to spend another 20 minutes trying to get those because when I tried to order parking, it told me I couldn't. Then there was no way for me to get back to just ordering seats (the checkout button disappeared after I tried to add parking). Pre-sale parking could save me like $15 so I tried to add again on my next order but same story. I finally settled on nosebleeds with no parking. The Brewers really need to figure this crap out. I get that there are a lot of people trying to order, they don't want single seats left, etc. But having my order screwed up because I tried to add parking is inexcusable.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

I came in a little late due to a meeting but was able to find a couple of obstructed seats in the terrace box section. Contrary to others I liked being able to search for my actual seat location, they say obstructed but I have sat in the same seats before and like them. There is just a rail next to me. Parking might have been an issue because there was no preferred left so you had to pick general.

Searching for the seats on the seat map actually worked really, really well....except for the fact that it wouldn't let me actually buy seats that would leave just a single seat (which seems stupid when the email even says it might just be singles left). There were groups of seats together, but I couldn't actually buy them due to the fact that taking 4/5 or 2/3 seats would leave a single and I needed 4 seats.

I also wound up with "obstructed view" but it's the first row of TR so it should just be railing.

I had planned on trying to get Opening Day tickets, but found out on Monday that I have to be in court that afternoon (long story, but no, I'm not in trouble).

Doesn't court and all official business or government activities get cancelled if it's on Opening Day?

One would think so, but apparently this hearing that's already been rescheduled about six times takes precedence.

First time going for opening day tickets and came away with a ticket in section 122. Do ticket prices usually drop towards opening day? Thinking about downgrading to go with a friend.

Have to be excited for the metal detectors on opening day though...should be a blast getting 40k through there. *Groan*

I wouldn't count on tickets going down as it approaches. There is usually a strong sellers market for this game, even as it approaches. Maybe if you are willing to wait until Sunday night or Monday morning but if past years are any indication, demand for the Opener is really, really high.

No reason to use the secondary market for Opening Day if you only need a pair. Tickets have been easily available the last several years at the box office or online in the week or so leading up to the game. Just keep checking. Worst case you'll get piggybacked singles.

I guess my problem isn't finding tickets it is finding infield tickets. I'd like to stay in the field or loge infield area.

Last year it was an incredibly awesome buyer's market. Just find the real fans trying to dump tickets outside the front of the stadium in the resell area. There were people that couldn't get rid of them. The scalpers were really struggling too.

I hope the Brewers have decided to actually do something about this problem. I don't know what it is but it seems like last 2-3 years lines to get into the busier game have gotten ridiculous. I don't know if it's all because of them checking people's bags or what, but I've had to stand in lines that have looped all the way around.....if it had been a straight line I bet they would have been the length of a football field. And that was before metal detectors. I shudder to think what it's going to be like on opening day.

I agree with this. Last year I bought 4 tickets from someone on craigslist. Once my brother determined he and his wife couldn't go I had to sell two of the tickets and I couldn't even come close to getting what I paid for them. I doubt I'm going to go this year but if I do I plan on waiting until the day before the game to even look for tickets. People will panic when it looks like they're going to get stuck with tickets they don't want.

This is exactly what it is. The bottleneck is not the ticket takers. They are consistently standing there waiting for people to come inside the stadium. The delay is the bag search while the next 8 people in line wait for 1 person to have their bag checked even if they don't have a bag.

They need to sort this out. Simply having 2 separate lines when you get to the stadium would solve this problem. Bags to the left, non bags to the right.

Same thing two years ago. I had two decent seats in the terrace that I was looking to get rid of starting a couple hours before game time that I had to eat. One guy offered me 5 bucks apiece. Game day demand was non existent. The StubHub/eBay/Craigslist market & the day of game parking lot market are two completely different things.

Huh. That hasn't been my experience but maybe I just had some bad luck.
