Get your Jedi Lucroy and Talking Uecker bobbles now ...

NAPetrashek
I got 2 of the Lucroys and 4 of the Ueckers. Ueckers are only available at the $39 tickets. I'll be a gypsy all day.

That's a shame, Bikeage. I had always liked you before.

I haven't even checked eBay on what these things are going for. I'm going to keep at least one of each for my collection, obviously. I'll probably hang onto both the Lucroys until I can trade one. However, if I can sell a Uecker or two to pay for the tickets, I don't see anything wrong with that.

It does irk me that there are more Terrace Level available now for a few reasons. Cheaper to take 3 buddies to a game at 25 a head vs 39, demand will also go down to some degree.

I was kidding, mostly. I don't get the sense you're one of the people I'm talking about. It's one thing to pick up an extra to sell to help cover the ticket price. It's another to order three or four or ten or fifteen extra tickets just for the bobblehead with the hopes of flipping them for profit. I understand it's economics and the laws of supply an demand and "why shouldn't I make a buck" and all that. Still seems like a pretty sad way to make a living, and one that doesn't derive any joy from the sport itself.

I agree, I don't see how the basic bobbles make it worth while to sell. Even if you get 25 bobbles from tickets at Bernies Terrace tickets at 6 bucks each, you can only sell em for 10-15. Ebay takes it's cut, paypal takes it's cut, and by the end of it, there's only 2-3 dollars profit. For the time that it takes to list them, then package em, then ship them out, doesn't seem worth it at all.

Sure you'll get a few alternates, but does that really make up for the rest of the ones you got?

It's the same with those same 10-15 guys in the autograph mafia that stand around for two hours in the Uecker line in hopes to get visiting stars like the Andrew McCutchen's and walk away with the Craig Counsell's of the world only to flip em.

It really does seem like the Major League bobble has national appeal though as there are national writers talking about it and fans of other teams expressing interest in it. However, you still have to go to Miller Park to get the bobble so the only way people outside of Wisconsin will get it is if they buy on Ebay or another site so I think it will have value and maybe even increase from the current $50-60 once it is actually available.

The Rick Vaughn one still sells for a lot on ebay (some now on there from 60-100) and there were a lot more of those. Plus it didn't talk.

I find it odd that the Brewers are adding more seats. Why not just start with that many? Are they that oblivious to the fact that this was going to be extremely popular? They sell out their regular bobblehead games for the most part, these are unique and cool, surprised they couldn't anticipate high demand.

For many years the wife and I would always grab seats in Bernies Terrace for the bobblehead games as a cheap Sunday outing that also fed my bobblehead addiction. I think in 2013 they charged $15/seat. Let's just say there were always lots of empty seats available up there that were probably still paid for.

The Brewers changed that last season, though- as of 2014, BT tickets are no longer a cheap option for those bobblehead games. Due to demand-based pricing, the BT tickets are now priced the same as Terrace Reserved on bobblehead Sundays ($25?). I found that out the hard way last year after I had my season ticket rep pull tickets for me for the bobblehead games and realized when I saw my credit card statement afterwards that prices had changed. Needless to say, this season we're sitting in TR behind home plate instead of way up in the corner for the same price.

So, the gypsies are now paying a lot more than they did before last season. Hard to see how it's profitable.

Who knows. Maybe some of them don't even buy tickets anymore. It seems every year there are more and more waiting on the paths for people who exit the game, hoping to snag the bobbles for like 2 bucks a piece or less. I keep hoping the Brewers will do something about it to stop the fans from getting harassed, but so far they haven't seemed interested.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if there is a season seat holder bobblehead this year? Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere.

There isn't one this year, I don't think. They also got rid of the signed baseball that they did the last couple years. Disappointing.

They replaced it with the option of receiving all the all-fan giveaways for the entire season which is superior in my opinion.

Yeah, I have a 20 pack and never heard anything about a Lucroy SSH bobble.

Havent received them for any yet. Also haven't received my tickets for the Replacements concert that I bought around the same time. That's actually more concerning because the Rave sucks and probably won't reprint tickets that go missing. At least I know the Brewers will.

  • 2 weeks later...

My vouchers for both the Major League and Star Wars games, as well as the Stitch N Pitch event, all came over this past weekend in the same envelope. If you haven't received yours yet, you should soon.

That being said, I've yet to receive my 20-game package ticket booklets. Weird.

The Brewers started to mail season ticket packages last week and I believe they expect to have most/all in the mail by the end of this week. The hawing household seems to be one of the last to receive every year, so I'm expecting the same this go-round.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
