Biggest flop: Padres. It's how it always works. Everyone pre-season darling. Look at what they all did! #Fail. It never works out that way. Or they will just win it all and throw pie in my face.

I'll give my predictions below this, but I'm wondering why everybody has Milwaukee in the playoffs, let alone a few predicting a World Series run? This is the same team that minus a nice April played .470 for 5/6th's of the season that returns basically the same roster.

Anyhoo, if I'm laying in Vegas...

AL East - (2)Baltimore, (5) Boston, New York, Toronto, Tampa

AL Central - (3)Detroit, Cleveland, KC, Chicago, Minnesota

AL West - (1)Oakland, (4) Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Texas

NL East - (1)Washington, Florida, New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia

NL Central - (3) Saint Louis, Pittsburg, Chicago, Milwaukee (74-88), Cincinnati

NL West - (2)SanFrancisco, (4) Los Angeles, (5) San Diego, Colorado, Arizona

ALWC - Boston over Los Angeles

ALDS - Boston over Oakland, Baltimore over Detroit

ALCS - Boston over Baltimore

NLWC - Los Angeles over San Diego

NLDS - Washington over Los Angeles, SanFrancisco over Saint Louis

NLCS - Washington over SanFrancisco

WS - Boston over Washington in 6

Any team looks bad if you take out their hot streaks. They went 20-8 with basically no contribution from the best player on the team (Ryan Braun), with a journeyman platoon at 1B, and with a black hole at SS.

It's a solid roster that can easily compete. Can't predict anything else in the preseason.

It'd be interesting to take out the best 6th of a season for all teams and see what their records were. Its kind of the modus operandi of the Cards to be mediocre for long stretches. Have the Giants had a dominating season in a WS year? The powerhouses in the NL last season were the Nats and Dodgers.

I wouldn't call it the same team either.

It wasn't my intention to remove their hot streak. The most telling argument to me is that they played .470 ball for 5/6th's of the year. Unfortunately, I think the talent assembled is a .470 baseball team.

That logic is awful though. They had 2 bad months and 1 good month, impossible to derive how good they actually are from that. It is just as easy to point to a healthy Brewers team being way over .500 and when injuries hit them hard in the 2nd half they fell apart. Who knows what is the truth. I mean over half the team had some nagging little injury in the 2nd half.

I think the Brewers are in the hunt for the wild card but I think all of the teams in the hunt for the wild card are somewhere between 70 and 90 wins, you just can't really predict baseball.

They actually had two good months, 20-18 in March/April and 18-10 in June. The two bad months were real bad though. Depending on which 5/6 is used the first or last 5/6 then they were playing .537 ball the first 5/6. So the optimistic people can say the most telling argument to me is that they played .537 ball for 5/6th's of the year. Fortunately, I think the talent assembled is a .537 baseball team.

Except the 2nd part is because you've done the first part. I'd guess 3/4 of all teams would have a .470 record by taking out their hot stretches, maybe more, including a bunch of playoff teams.
