Barry Zito?

Zito reportedly threw for 4 or 5 teams. Anyone think it's worth taking a minor league flyer on Zito with an opt out date around June 1 as some veteran insurance?

They already have Willis but I would have no problem with Zito on a minor league deal.

For rotational depth maybe...but I would rather they use Jungmann or Thornburg if a spot were to open due to injury.

Thought they see Willis as potential reliever. It wouldn't hurt having one vet in the AAA rotation for a couple months if a need arises and he's throwing well then come June 1 just let him go if he's not.

They did say they wanted a veteran as a swingman or some such comment. I agree with the minor league invite only.
