Fantasy Baseball 2015

molitor fan

I am in a Dynasty fantasy league that needs a new owner to take over a very challenging team...you have 100 total players with 25 on active roster with a 130 million real salary cap based on actual salaries...it is well organized but the team that would be taken over (the Pirates, if you follow the link) would be a long term build...we are doing an international draft with a 10 million salary cap as soon as the new owner is found, so there are myriad ways to build the team back up.

Please post in this thread if you are interested, but also follow the link and speak to Sid, the commish, if you want to grab this team.

Anyone looking for a quick and dirty way to rank players going into their draft, I've created a new site that you can check out:

http://www.rotoprojos.com/

It uses a formula I've used the past several years while prepping for my own drafts, mainly using standard deviations above the mean in whichever categories you choose, to develop a custom ranking of players. I decided this year that I might as well drop it into a website as a tool for other people to use. I'd love any feedback anyone has on it. I plan on building the site out a bit in the next few weeks, adding more description as to where the projections come from and how the ranking works, as well as some articles on fantasy baseball strategy as I feel inclined.

Hope it proves to be a helpful tool for others!

I like the list a lot. In the Pitching category, I didn't see Quality Starts in your configures for pitching. QS. Any way to build that in to your numbers?

Very good base-line list in my opinion and a website, that would probably garner a ton of followers in due time.

I just used your site...I'm getting back into fantasy for the first time in about three years. Inherited someone else's team and had to figure out keepers. Good stuff.

Mr.Allen I will be drafting in a new league tonight. I came to realize this week some stats were changed vs what I'm used to. Rather large H2H category league, and your webpage with RotoScore is going to be a blessing tonight when I draft. I'll share with you the buy in if I win this league because of your webpage&help. Looking forward to beating up this league of newbies/likely misinformed others who won't be prepared like I am. Thanks again for the site reference.

And it has already happened. I drafted/bought in to a lot of Pitching since the regular playing lineup was so small just 9players for 7 categories standard 8 with 1 Util for 9. Compared to normal league I play extra OF and extra Util. for 11 with 7cats in that Offensively but only 6 in Pitching.

Anyway. It was very easy for drafters to look at an offensive players ADP and think, this guy's been an 8th round pick why is he here in the 11th round? and pick him up. A number of teams wound up with about 12 or 13 offensive players vs me having just the 9minimum(1 being Rendon 1 being Bryant who are just sitting on bench)

Well first someone dropped AJ Pollock. I thought hey good 15/25 type stat guy to put in Bryants Util slot. Then literally the following day someone dropped Joc Pederson. I used my 4th waiver wire spot to get Pollock and thought dam my luck I wish I saved it for Pederson. Used my 12th waiver wire spot and got Pederson for Pollock. Love it! Now I have a 25-30/25-30 guy whom I had no 20/20 guy. Slow starts+combo of just sitting on bench when youre looking at losing a couple Pitch categories=dropped. I won 5 of 7 Pitching cats(not saves/K/9) and 2 Hitting to tie the matchup. and Come to find out being the Home team its just like FF with a 1-0 record or 0-1 record at end of week. So the tie being the home team got me the win with 2 offensive players on bench. I had a 315BA and 12BBs by Friday night with my other 7players. 2 runs scored! I've never seen that before. 1 on a HR. Scored 13runs on the weekend to make 15runs total look like a weak week. .325/17BBs. 4HRs. I think 15runs was the lowest of any other team when Friday's games were over and me leading the entire league in BA at that point had 2.

Anyway, the stud pitchers whom are likely to pitch 210Innings+ vs having a quality guy that maybe touches 195 are going to keep me on top of this League, I just know it. And Bryant is coming....Rendon will get healthy. And I'll just wait to upgrade my OFs or SS when someone drops theirs due to struggles or because they have an everyday player on the bench 5 days a week.

Edit just going to say that I drafted Jose Fernandez to stash on my DL in the 13th round. Pederson picked up in the 14th rd. I got Hector Rodon(best undervalued RP I think this season) the two players I've dropped Javier Baez(before hearing he was a AAA player to play in Rendons place til back) and Kelvin Herrera a RP. Person that dropped Pederson? Picked up Drew Pomerantz after his 7ip 0ER start.

Well, Mr Allen. I took 5th. Was stomped in the Playoffs 1st round. Wasn't a very healthy year for the team. I needed at least one more high quality bat than high quality SP as my bats weren't up to task...Didn't help Rendon was a wasted early pick. The Pitchers, man It seemed like all my studs would alternate having 2-3 a week just plain suck. Oh well, can't get you the 50 buyin as promised.

As to my other League that I've played last 5years. I won handedly a new division format. Best record overall and finished it with a very tight win in Playoffs to capture the overall Championship. I worked Sunday unfortunately and didn't get to follow the matchup the final day. Nothing but Ks was decided by more than 4. I had a .43ERA/.87Whip last day and eeked out ERA/Whip by a few hundredths. Won by 1HR. And BA/OB by few hundredths. I think I had to have been behind at some point during the day. Missed out on the nailbiter experience.
