We should just go all Little League rules and eliminate defensive specialists altogether. There are 9 innings and 9 positions on the field. Everybody plays every position one inning. 5 tool players might actually gain some value then.

Nah, lets just go straight NFL style and have offensive and defensive players! Ohhhh and we can have "special team" players who will just be our base runners

This brings the offseason full circle.

 

They started the offseason discussing silly rules on how to make games shorter and now they have more on to finish the offseason by discussing silly rules on how to make the games longer.
