I think they tried to get him last year too. To us Brewer fans, that sure seems like a lot but this is what above average pitching costs these days.

Isn't that almost what we gave Garza? Personally i'd rather have Matt, as much as he frustrates me.

I had to look it up because I thought Garza was only $10M a season but it's actually $12.5. He got 4yrs/$50 with a $13M option. I could go either way between those 2. Garza is probably the better pitcher (but not by much) but Santana has a better record of health.
