2B Dee Gordon and RHP Dan Haren to Miami.

LHP Andrew Haney, 2B Enrique Hernandez, RHP Chris Hatcher, and C Austin Barnes to Los Angeles.

Interesting thing about this trade is that earlier this offseason Dan Haren said he would only play in Los Angles this year. Wonder if he is still going to stick to that?

And now Andrew Heaney flipped to the Angels for 2B Howie Kendrick. Heaney certainly has the prospect pedigree, it will be interesting to see if he develops into a mid-to-top of the rotation starter for the Angels. I like that they are taking a chance on a potential impact starter controlled through 2020.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

And there it is. All that for Dee Gordon minus Haren. Meanwhile, Heaney just netted a better 2b in Howie Kendrick all by himself.

Dodgers just slapped Miami in the face twice in the same night. For those on the 1yr left for Kendrick to 3yrs of Gordon debate, lets see LA offer Kendrick the QO after this season because 15mil is nothing to them. So they either have Kendrick with 2years or 1yr+Comp pick

Dee Gordon is turning 27 and just had his best season. Maybe they see that he is entering his prime and is going to be a cheaper option than a Kendrick who they would then have to shell out $15 mil plus for? And if this Heaney guy has now been traded by two teams, maybe he's not the can't miss prospect you seem to feel that he is?

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

The Dodgers are paying Haren the $10M whether he plays or not and they are also paying Gordon this season.

Haney was only acquired to be traded. The speculation was that he was going to Philly for Hamels but the Dodgers clearly had no intentions of actually keeping him and that has no bearing on his status as a prospect.
