Silver Sluggers. Again, no Lucroy. This time it's Posey winning.

So Posey isn't an All Star, but he wins the Silver Slugger over Lucroy. That's fine, because in the grand analysis, his numbers were better, though his metrics are pretty much the same.

Posey was slightly better in average, he was better in home runs and RBI, and had a higher OPS. His OPS + was 143.

Lucroy had more hits, runs, doubles, a higher OBP, more extra base hits, more total bases.

Both players had a 5.6 oWAR. It could have gone either way, but Buster Olnet has dubbed Buster Posey the new Derek Jeter, so expect ESPN and baseball writers everywhere to be jumping on the Posey train from here on out.

Lucroy had a fine season. Can't really complain too much here about Posey winning. Whether Lucroy won the Silver Slugger or not, it doesn't take away his great season. I don't think we should get too worked up about postseason awards unless it's a World Series ring.
