The Astros have acquired catcher Hank Conger from the Angels in exchange for catcher Carlos Perez and right-hander pitcher Nick Tropeano.

Maldonado has nowhere near the value that Conger has so no. What the Brewers could get for Maldonado is more along the lines of a AAAA player.

Hank Conger over Maldonado? Lol hilarious. I guess some do not see how truly special he is defensively. If he ever learns to hit, like Molina did, watch out.

According to Fangraphs Maldanoado was worth more WAR than Conger last season despite only playing in 52 games

The big question here is Jason Castro the next to move. Doesn't make any sense to have two starting catchers, even when you have the option of the DH.

I'm in Houston. This will be interesting to see what happens. Castro had a down year and is going to start making more money. They need a third baseman. Dominguez is garbage. I'm wondering if they might package Castro and someone else for a third baseman.
