How much is signing Suppan gonna cost this team?

Uke - said something very interesting.

 

At this time last year, Suppan had a 5.80 ERA.

In the 2nd half of the season, Soup had a 2.39 ERA. We all know what he did in the playoffs.

 

Lets stand by our guy here - an ERA under 4.00 the rest of the way would be like adding a MAJOR piece at the deadline.

Also, how weak would our pen be if we had Villy in the rotation the whole season? I really think we are better off the way things are.

 

Say we replace Villy with Sarfate or even ZJ (in the pen). How bad would they be now? Ouch.

I'm nitpicking, but it was Powell who mentioned that.

 

And Suppan's stats last year were at the break. He's had a couple of starts post break this year to repulse us.

 

There is not plenty of baseball left. Win. Win now.
