Reviewing Daylight/Standard Time Settings

Just to review how this works…

Our board is set to show times in Central Time, Central Standard Time (CST) in the winter months and Central Daylight Time (CDT) in the summer months.

When you're logged in, your personal time settings override the board settings. These can be accessed by hitting the "User Control Panel" link in the navigation bar at the top of every board page, then choosing "Board Preferences" in the "Options" sidebar on the left side of the page. Set the appropriate time in the "My timezone:" dropdown. Underneath the dropdown, choose "yes" or "no" next to "Summer Time/DST is in effect:".

When daylight time starts and stops, all you need to do is change the "Summer Time/DST" radio button to either yes or no. You don't have to change the "timezone" dropdown.

If you move to a new time zone, change the dropdown to match your new location. If you're in the United States, you shouldn't have to change the DST radio button unless you're moving in or out of Arizona or Hawaii.

If you're logged in, these quick links will take you to the appropriate control panel page on each board:

LambeauLeap Board Settings

You can check to see if your time settings are correct by looking in the Statistics box at the bottom of the board's front page. Make sure you're logged in while checking.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
