Don't agree with SFs decision not to start Bumgarner tonight. He is clearly their ace and I don't think the rest of their staff is that outstanding. It's the World Series! What are you saving him for? He will have the entire rest of the off-season to rest.

I agree. A pitcher that good should start games 1, 4 and 7.

I also am beyond frustrated with basically everyone involved with managing a baseball team and their continued misuse of top bullpen arms. Ned, you had a 4-1 lead. You have 3 of the best bullpen arms in all of baseball. But you let your team give up 5 runs in 2 innings because you refuse to use them outside of "their" inning. You need 2 more wins and you win the World Series! I am sorry, Herrera, Davis, Holland - saddle up boys, you might all be pitching 2 innings tonight. But Ned would rather not use them, than use them outside "their inning."

Ridiculous. Rant over. (For now:)

This series reminds me of the 2011 NLCS...the more experienced Giants are taking control of the series. I won't count out the Royals yet, but a Giants blowout in Game 6 wouldn't surprise me.

I told my wife after three batters in the 2nd inning, "This smells of 2001 game six which we attended."

She smiled and nodded. Twenty minutes later, "Wow, you were right for once."

Thanks, dear.

This series seems to be paralleling the 82 series pretty much game by game. The Giants like the Brewers went on the road and won the first game in a blowout. Then they lost the next 2 games and fell behind by a lot in the 4th game before rallying for the win, just like the Brewers. Then they won the 5th game at home and got blown out on the road in game 6. I predict that the Giants will be 11 outs away from the title but the Royals will come back and win.

I'm really looking forward to watching Game 7 tonight! These games are usually very special and not just because someone wins the title.

My wife and I were at Game 7 of the 2001 World Series and there are tons of memories from that game that I will go to the grave with. The tension, the anxiety, the excitement, the numbness. And that's just from the fans! I can't imagine what it'd be like for the players.

Finally, I'm very happy for the Royals and their fans. It's got to be an almost "out of this world" experience for them--win or lose. I'm really hoping that the Brewers will give their fans this opportunity someday.

Perez swinging for the fences when a single is all that is needed for extra innings.... Seem familiar?
