2014-09-12 Reds (Latos) at Brewers (Lohse), 7:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 3-2; Overbay walk-off winner!]

I can only speak for myself, but after what we have seen lately (losing streak + demoralizing loss on Tuesday), it seems like we are past the nerve wrecking point and more at a deflated point where the games almost feel meaningless. We are by all means in the playoff race, but it just feels different since we give up so much ground so quickly. But I'm still hopeful we can get hot and games will feel exciting again.

i'm kind of in-between. i'm still here, but it's gone from excitement to a constant state of uncertainty regarding the team. any confidence surrounding this team went out the team. a few months i expected the team to win most games. now i'm 50/50 on everything. sure it makes it more exciting since you literally have no idea what the brewers are going to do, but it also makes you cautious. you don't want to get to excited either...

Gameday lags so behind sometimes and doesn't update some information quickly at all, so you can spend nearly a full half-inning w/o it giving you all the information. It's never been this bad before this year, but since sometime mid/late summer, it's been consistently bad.

(Point: This time it showed Heisey up with a runner on 1st without ever showing where pitch #4 went to Phillips and that he'd earned a walk to 1st. Sometimes it lags behind by a whole AB or two.)

On topic, I wish K-Rod would come in & find the plate right away instead of what he was up to -- again, pitches everywhere, taking a knuckleballer's approach to the strike zone -- this time to Phillips to lead off the 9th.

Our offense continues to be just brutal....4 runs seems like an explosion instead of just an average game

it amazes how they can go from being a top offense to AAA offense in the blink of an eye. shouldn't be like this either. plenty of guys in the lineup that are capable of putting up big numbers. regardless of how the season ends, the hitting coach needs to go. i don't like this team's overaggressive approach. braun still swings at a lot of junk despite being a veteran. i'd prefer a more patient approach less dependent on HR's. when these guys are raking, they rake like crazy. when they don't.....well we're seeing it now. cardinals kick the brewers butt most of the time because their hitters usually aren't going for the HR. they work the count and try to put the ball in play. brewers hitters always look for the huge hit. in a way they are like the jay cutler of MLB. cutler always looks for the big play. there is no middle ground with him. same with the brew crew. this boom or bust approach just doesn't work.

If K-Rod could at least miss CLOSER to the zone, they might swing-and-miss at more pitches. It's not too hard to lay off a pitch that's 2 feet off the plate ... unless you're a Brewer hitter foolishly chasing a slider... again and again and again...).

Whew! Disaster averted for the time being.

K-Rod's kinda the curveball-loving version of Turnbow -- every pitch is an adventure and every pitch has as much a chance of missing by a lot as it does anything else. I wish he'd rediscover some of that form that encourages fans' confidence rather than fear.
