More thoughts than predictions, but please add your own:

Automatic 100% - RHP Taylor Jungmann, SS Yadiel Rivera, RHP David Goforth

Bypassed last year, unlikely to be left unprotected again - RHP Tyler Cravy

Don't be surprised if -- C Adam Weisenburger, LHP Jed Bradley

So I'm going with six additions this year.

Here's a link to my 2013 predictions, along with all of yours who posted. I did nail this part ;):

Don't be surprised if -- RHP Brooks Hall, RHP Kevin Shackelford

***

So please add your own now.

Amending my August 31st "thoughts" above to drop Adam Weisenburger, only based on the waiver acquisition of Juan Centeno. Still think Adam's a future big leaguer, though.

Anybody know what the deadline is to add minor leaguers to the 40 man, is it just a day before the rule 5 draft? It seems that the consensus is 4 or 5 guys could be added so there seems to be potential to have a couple guys removed if the Brewers pick up anybody else in free agency before the draft.

So the Brewers head into the final night deadline for Rule 5 roster setting with only four spots open. Who is spot #36 if space is needed? Hunter Morris (given the Matt Clark duplication?)

Brewers Current 40-Man Roster

Did LHP Mike Strong state his case enough in front of plenty of Fall League scouts? Remember when the Mariners successfully plucked LHP Lucas Luetge in the fall of 2011? Lefty relievers are often popular targets, easier to "hide" on a big league roster.

Of course, the Brewers don't need to add the maximum four, and to be honest, among the candidates (Taylor Jungmann, Tyler Cravy, Yadiel Rivera, David Goforth, Drew Gagnon, Adam Weisenburger, others), the only 100% guarantee would be Jungmann, as it wouldn't be a total shock to see any combination of the others left exposed for Rule 5.

Suppose that also says something about the current crop of farmhands who became Rule 5-eligible this fall, not a particularly outstanding group.

Why does Jungmann require Protection? He shouldn't be eligible for Rule 5 drafted in 2011. almost all of these mentioned are 2011 picks. So a team has 3.5years after a draft to decide to place on their 40man roster? Just doesn't seem right. Between the ML 25man roster and then 15 more to make your 40man of which slow to develop draftees from 3years ago can become exposed to rule 5 selection? That reads as 8 of Milw's top 10 selections of which one of them Strong is on the 40man. So the team stands to potentially lose 4 of Jungmann,Bradley, Lopez, Gagnon, Ramirez, Reed, and Goforth? at a minimum if they added 3 of them to fill their 40man with those 7?

I would have thought Milw controlled them from Rule 5 until next offseason. 5 of those names are currently ranked in the Brewers top 20 Bradley/Ramirez with Strong being the ones not in the team's top 20 ranks.

I'm surprised about Rivera. He profiles as a utility infielder who has less than 1/2 a season at AA. It seems guys like him are plentiful.

I'm also surprised Hunter Morris is still on the roster. Does the team really think he's going to be anything special after two mediocre years at AAA? Especially with Lind on the roster (not to mention Clark and Rogers).

I'd rather protect quality arms - Goforth, Cravy, Bradley, etc. - than these guys. These guys have some upside.

Reed is not eligible for the draft. Neither is Lopez as they both signed at 18.

just remember, whoever gets claimed has to stay on the MLB roster until mid season like Wang did, so im not sure how many of those arms are going to end up getting claimed.

I think not protecting Goforth is a mistake. I hope he gets the last spot.

They're done, just the three added listed above. Goforth among those available at Rule 5 time.

For those with experience on the 40-man rules -

Could they not be waiting to see what other teams put out there and then still throw one more player on the list since the deadline is midnight? Or is there only one submission? Maybe teams don't get that anal?

Why wouldn't they protect up to the full 40 today, and when they need a spot, just cut Morris and/or Clark? You know they won't get anything in a trade and they are blocked by Lind.

Another question, just an example, what would be the implications of dropping A.Pena off the 40man list, to add a Cravy? Would Pena be a free agent or if no one puts him on rule 5, he would have to come back to the Brewers system?

Very true. How many guys actually get kept - maybe a 1/2 dozen each season? It's not a ton.

Count me as dumbfounded that Hunter Morris is still on the roster. He's no better than 3rd on the LH side of first base platoon depth chart. Agree 100% that Strong needed to be protected. His showing in the AFL was going to generate interest. It wouldn't shock me if he makes the Brewer roster out of spring training. Rivera is a bit of a surprise too, especially with Arcia in the system. Guess his age figured in. Goforth's numbers were worse in 2014 at Huntsville than they were in 2013, so I don't think he'll generate much interest.

I don't think anyone figures to get taken.

Wait, not so fast, says Tom. Good call, Roderick, in your post above.

Just talked to #Brewers GM Doug Melvin. Teams have until 11 p.m. to add players to 40-man roster. David Goforth still being discussed.

While still discussing Goforth, #Brewers GM Doug Melvin also said it's nice to keep a roster spot open "in case something comes up."

I'm not digging the possibility of losing Goforth and a personal favorite of mine in Cravy at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if the brewers take a rule 5 pick to fill that last spot...just like last year.
