Target Field

TURBO

Taking a family trip to the Twin Cites next week. We'll be at a Twins game at Target Field on the 20th.

Any pointers for that specific ballpark? I've never been there, and would like to make sure we hit all the important spots while we are there.

I've only been to 1 game there. I took the train in from the MOA parking lot and that made it extremely easy in and out. I remember quite a bit on the plazas outside the gates, but nothing real memorable inside the park. Nice sight lines though, I enjoyed the game itself.

Do you already have your tickets? On a sunny summer evening, you definitely want to be on the 3B side, to watch the sunset reflect off the skyline. Gorgeous.

Walking into the park from the RF gate (iirc, it's the main gate) is a sight to behold. The whole park just opens up right in front of you.

I'm no lover of the Twins, but man do I love their ballpark!

Light rail for sure. I wouldn't park at the MOA though. I parked there for the ASG and it was kind of a hassle (I needed the little boys room, which is why I parked there). Anyhow, there are 2 stops between MOA and MSP airport which have parking lots and are much easier to get in and out of than the mall. Its about a 40 min ride to the ballpark so plan accordingly. I do believe there is an "express" train for games though

Weekday game parking isn't too bad near the field. There are a few ramps close that you shouldn't have a problem with (unless you want to ride the rail; its interesting too).

The field is nice. I really like Target Field. That said, I have not been rained or snowed on during a game.

Make sure you spend some time wandering about the field. The sightlines are cool. You can go hang out with the organ player up on the 3rd deck as well.

I'd actually recommend parking over the light rail. There are a couple of five dollar lots around, which is actually cheaper than train fare. If I remember right, one is on 7th St., right between Nicollet and Hennepin. It's a short walk from there to the park.

The train is a good option too, but it does tend to be pretty crowded for games. I'd echo the comments about the third base side. Generally, those are the best views of the field, and you can't beat the skyline.

Light rail? 5 dollar lots? Man, if you're going to make a trip to the ballpark here just pay the extra money and park in Ramp A or B, you are literally in and out onto 394. I wouldn't waste my time with shady lots or dirty trains...worth every penny to me. (Twolves games can also park there too).

Target Field is a beautiful ballpark, glad we made the trip. We sat in section 102, got a great deal on 4 seats ($54 total) and the fans around us were great! We saw the Twins get hammered, but we all took home a of a pair of SGA flip flops...lol

Also, we took the light rail, had no issues at all... Thanks for the advice everyone!

Flip flops! I have to admit that's a giveaway item I haven't heard of before.
