That Wendy's commercial, the pretzel Bun one that spoofs the Mr. Big song "be with you" is driving me insane! That song sticks in my head for hours.

I have that Mr. Big CD in my car. And Nelson. I'm pretty awesome.

On another note Estrada has pitched well in the long relief role. Much better then Wang obviously. There were many on here that said the brewers would not make up an injury for Wang. So obviously Wang must be very injured to not be back now. lol

Wow Mike. Brewers talking about pushing Lohse next start back. With the 2 off days and how well Fiers has pitched. We have Nelson, Gallardo, Peralta lined up vs dodgers. I would then do Fiers on Tuesday vs Blue Jays. And then Gallardo on Wednesday vs the Jays. Then Lohse return on Friday vs the Pirates.

Too bad his pitch count is so high. Not a lot of walks and hits either.

Edit: its a 5-0 game and his count is over 100 and the rotation is banged up. It would be a bad idea to put him out simply to get closer to a record he's not touching today anyways.

Jeez that was a nice quick inning; let him try to go 7. 14 K's, is that the most since Ben's 18K game in 2004?

Wow, 14 K ties second-most in Brewers history. Gallardo had 14 K in July 2012 (7.0 IP), and Moose Haas had 14 K in April 1978 (9.0 IP). Sheets has the record with his 18 K game in May 2004 (9.0 IP).

Breaking news:

Pirates just got Axford from the Indians:

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Pirates have acquired reliever John Axford from the Indians.

No word yet on what the Indians will receive in return. Axford began the year in the closer role with Cleveland, but has dropped in the pecking order since the early part of May. His ERA was down to 3.14 for the year before he gave up a grand slam against the Yankees on August 8. He could be a useful mid-to-late inning option down the stretch.

Agreed, one more inning!!!

(It's probably wise to take him out though, not knowing how much we may have to rely on him from this point on...)

When we get to full strength, with Gallardo, Lohse, Garza, and Peralta, and Fiers continues to dominate, does he take Nelson's spot? It's a good problem to have!

I hear you. I hate the commercial, yet was just sitting in my recliner singing along.

The worst commercial is that Leinies radio commercial where there's two guys talking about absolutely nothing. They mention grilling or cooking or something... If I sat next to these two guys at a bar I'd go absolutely crazy.

Can someone please show me any evidence that pitch counts correlates with injuries? If it did then why to relievers need to have Tommy John surgery. The whole thing is total crap that just allows weak people to avoid blame for a player getting injured.

I don't know about that, but I do wonder whether the one size fits all approach is smart. If you're throwing upper-90s, then a 100 pitch cut-off seems reasonable. But someone like Fiers who sits in the low-90s and is more of a command pitcher could probably go a bit further than normal.

Well, that was disgusting... Why not put Segura in as a defensive replacement?

If this game gets close, I'm going to puke in a bag and send it to the offending players responsible!

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!*

Man do I hate our bull pen. So predictably bad...

EDIT: Of course, the error at 2nd base is the reason for the runs being scored...

Yes. He should. When we are ahead in the 7th / 8th inning. Weeks should be replaced by Scooter, Herrera should be replaced Jean, and Davis should be replaced by Gerardo. In this game, Weeks isn't playing and Parra is already in for Braun.

Without being able to see the game, was this really on the bullpen? Was Herrera's error pretty routine?
