Sept reinforcements

Interesting question. Jason Rodgers is the one player who could possibly come up and make an impact if given the opportunity. He had been red hot in the second half, which he does every year. He'd need to slide back to 1B to get significant playing time.

After that there's very few guys separating themselves at AAA. Jose DeLaTorre maybe? A third catcher too? I guess Schafer as a defensive replacement. Hector Gomez or Falu make sense, 40 man roster spots come into play.

I think Schafer, gindl, and Galton are probably locks. It will be nice to have some left handedness to mix in. Falu, Gomez, and Rodgers make a lot of sense, but then there literally would not be a roster left at Nashville, maybe they could star pt bumping up some of the truly deserving guys they have right now and it would all work out. IDK. Pena makes sense for the pen, he's really turned it on lately too. I think he was dealing with injury for a stretch, because when I saw him play he was throwing 88-90mph, not the 94-96 I was expecting, that's right about when he started getting shelled 2 months ago or so.... So who knows. But if he's still soft tossing I don't see him getting called ahead of hand or Wooten.

I don't see Jason Rogers getting any playing time. He could be used as a PH for sure, but that's it. RR isn't going to give him playing time over Ramirez/Reynolds.

Schafer yes. Falu or some other UT, yes. Another bullpen arm or too, yes. That's about it, RR doesn't like a bunch of call-ups and I tend to agree. Not sure what Gindl gives you.

Rogers, Schafer, and Wooten for sure. Gindl might be closer to be being DFA'd than called up. Pena and Blazek are both maybes, but the Brewers are pretty frugal with September call-ups, and if they don't think there will be enough innings for one or both, they won't call them up just to call them up.

Non-roster hitters like Halton, Hermida, Gomez, Orr, Falu, and Velez will only be purchased for the big league roster if the Brewers think they can truly help. Gomez might stand some chance given how good he is defensively. If they don't take Gomez, maybe Falu or Velez stands a chance. The others aren't difference makers in any aspect, though all but Halton hit lefty.

Jay Jackson or Arcenio Leon might get the call if the Brewers are interested in protecting them beyond this year.

You might see Weisenburger as a third catcher. Zarraga didn't hit well in an extremely small AAA sample, and Weisenburger is far more advanced defensively.
