September 2014 call-ups (Nelson, Schafer, Pagnozzi, Rogers, Clark, Gómez called up; Garza, Wang activated)

docduany

I am really hoping we start either Clark or Rogers and then Gomez or Herrera

In last 28 days:

Mark Reynolds:.148 / .230 / .278 / .507

Jean Segura: .231 / .339 / .250 / .589

and not that they are the only problem on this team, but they are not helping at all. And what if you catch lighting in a bottle like with Fiers?

I know Overbay has an OPS over 1.000 in the last 28 days (26 PA) but he has been a very effective bench bat. Especially with him being tied for 4th on the team in walks in only 250 plate appearances - he is nice to bring in for a key AB late in the game. (as a comp; Segura has almost twice as many PA's and yet less walks.)

So lets try one of the call-ups tonight RRR!!!!

Wang has a legit MLB future if he continues to improve, his velocity was down a bit from what I would have expected (according to stadium guns) but he would have spent this season between West Virginia (A) and Bradenton (A+) if he was still in the Pirates system. He's pitching way over his head in MLB as we've said all along, but he's definitely intriguing as a pitcher.

It will be interesting to see where the Brewers place him next season. He still only has 44 IP this year, which is less than the the 47.1 he accumulated last year for the Pirates, he just hasn't had a chance to get settled into a professional rotation yet.

Nice for guys like Rogers and Clark. Some players get so close to the majors - but never quite get to the bigs. Even if they never make it back, it's pretty sweet to say you played in the Show.

Heck, Moonlight Graham got to play in the field. No one could ever take that away from him.
