Adam Lind?

Adam Lind should be a trade target for DM and Co. He is set to come off the DL tomorrow. It would make a lot of sense for Toronto to try to get something back for him as they are barely using him and are not likely to pick up his club option for next season. I think he would slide in very nicely at first for the crew and likely wont cost too much. It could be a deal that helps both contending teams.

The Jays need help at second and in the bullpen more than anything so I think there is a match. Their future needs are behind the plate and in CF. I think some combination of Weeks, Maldy, Schafer, Zarraga, Gorzo, Duke, Fiers, Kintzler, or Estrada gets it done without having to really touch anything of value in the minors.

I dont know what more contenders done trade with each other like this. I know bullpen is considered an area of need for the crew, but I dont see it that way at all. They have three dominant lefties, even if will smith is wearing down a bit, and a slew of capable guys that are all better than what toronto has.

If the brewers did this I would be very comfy unloading weeks and Maldy plus one of schafer/duke/gorz/estrada for lind, and that might even be too much. If it did take one of the lefties in the pen i would still really like a brewers bullpen that looked like:

Henderson

Krod

Smith

Jeffress

Duke/Gorzelanny

Estrada/Thornburg

Kintzler/Thornburg (when healthy being the longer reliever which would replace one of these two).

The brewers are about to have a backup in the Pen and they are soon getting two aces back, so i dont believe they need to trade to add to the pen, I think they could trade out of it and make the club better in the process.

What do you all think?

Lind's game logs, to me, look like he was playing pretty regularly as the LH-hitting side of a platoon prior to his injury. How is it that the Jays aren't really using him?

Edwin Encarnacion is the full time, not platooned, first baseman. Juan Francisco has had the roll of Lefty DH, 3b, and 1b when needed.

Sorry, I didnt mean to say that he wasnt being used, more so that he wasnt being used the way he would be used in milwaukee, he has much more value to the brewers than he does to toronto.

On the same hand Weeks and Maldy have a lot more value to Toronto than they do to the Brewers. It just seems like a really good fit where 2 contenders could trade from strengths and both get better. I get frustrated because it seems like trades like this get overlooked due to the "buyers" and "sellers" labels at the deadline.

I think this would be awesome if it could happen!!
