Puerto Rico Box Score

Very exciting that 20-year-old RHP Joshua Torres, who led the Arizona Rookie League in ERA for the Maryvale Brewers this summer, will be making starts in his native Puerto Rico this winter.

Kudos to the Brewers for the Torres signing, as he went undrafted (Puerto Rico prospects are draft-eligible). Of course, if Torres was that promising, maybe it would have been wiser to spend a draft pick on him ;).

With a final score of 10-9 (his team won), Joshua Torres' pitching effort detailed above is all the more impressive.

Juan Centeno finished 1-for-3 with a walk, and an RBI.

2B Hector Gomez (batting 2nd), 1B Nick Ramirez (7th) and C Shawn Zarraga (8th) are in Glendale's lineup this afternoon.

Box Score / Game Log

Glendale pounded, 11-2, but Brewers did fine.

Hector Gomez doubled twice in four AB's -- the Adam McCalvy audio we linked to this week has Adam hinting at an upcoming feature.

The Brewers really like what they have in the out-of-options Gomez, it seems, and I can't imagine him not being a RH 2B/SS/3B piece this spring. And if Segura looks horrible, through mid-April....

Both Nick Ramirez and Shawn Zarraga walked and singled, so the three Crew members combined for a .500 OBP today despite the drubbing.

The chance that a major leaguer custodie shortstop, could create a "sports rivalry" with teammate Orlando Arcia, indigenous figure in the early creole contest.

Strong turns 26 in 11 days, fellow LHP Stephen Peterson turns 27 today. They are the two most advanced lefty relievers (Strong made six starts in 2014) in the organization, and both are capable of being multi-inning guys, and not just left-handed specialists. Obviously, in terms of age, we're not talking future big league All-Stars, but they certainly could contribute at the big league level within the next season or two, and that's helpful.

Strong is taking advantage of his late invite to the AFL, and Peterson was brought to instructionals this fall.

If you want to consider Jed Bradley a future swingman, certainly he's in the discussion here as well. Brent Suter will likely be in the AA rotation again in 2015.
