Time for some Ryan Braun heroics!!!

Can't have heroics when you're being told to go for the walk.

Again, what would make you believe this to be the case? The 3-0 pitch was inside. We know Braun is having trouble with inside pitches so I would assume he decided to take there and it had nothing to do with RR.

It sure looked to me like he had no intention of swinging at that pitch, not much reaction, and I don't believe it had anything to do with being inside...

what crap!

those last 2 strikes were very questionable, and not a word from our manager.

What good does that really do?

As soon as Braun starts arguing he needs to go out there and try to get ejected in place of Braun

Ok, if the logic was that we're worried about Braun getting tossed, then that makes sense. I got the sense people wanted him to start an argument in an attempt to "fire up," the team.

But I will agree if makes sense if you think there is a chance Braun could have gotten tossed.

Great, 3-0, and Roenicke has him sit there with the bat on his shoulder. Ya, the former NL MVP swinging couldn't do anything for us, considering he's already homered and singled tonight.

I'm just baffled as to how RR can get blamed for some of this stuff.

Do you really think he gave Rickie the green light and then told Braun to take?

I HIGHLY doubt that's the case. And having him come out of the dugout yelling doesn't do anything.

This. Unless you have figured out the Brewers signs (and they for some reason showed Sedar giving the entire sequence prior to the 3-0 pitch on the telecast) you have no idea if Braun had a green light or not. Based on Weeks having the green light the at bat prior I'd guess Braun had it as well and simply did not get the pitch he was looking for on 3-0.

Braun has been red hot lately, one of the hottest hitters in the Majors. Do you really think that Braun, with a man on first in the bottom of the 8th at home in a 3-3 tie, is going to take six straight pitches, and not swing once, unless he was told to do so? I don't. You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't think there's any way that Braun is taking all the way on his own.

None of us have any idea who made what call, but some of you thinking RRR had nothing to do with taking that pitch is no more logical than those of us who think he was told to take...

No one knows for sure.

Some come to the aid of RRR most of the time, some go against him most of the time, it is all in how you look at it, and no one can claim they are right.

Don't managers automatically get thrown out now for balls and strikes? If that is the case then it definitely isn't worth it. It's also important to consider the reality that both of those pitches to Braun were strikes. It sort of ruins your credibility when you argue against the ump when he made thee right call.

Fine. But what part of that makes you believe he was given the sign to TAKE immediately after Rickie Weeks swung at a 3-0 pitch?

This is merely anecdotal, but Rock said before the 3-0 pitch that Braun seldom swings at them. That "some hitters aren't comfortable swinging 3-0." Which makes a lot more sense than Braun not having the green light.

Maybe not if dramatically inferior hitter hadn't JUST been given the green light the previous batter on 3-0.

You're basically arguing that RR decided Weeks should have the green light 3-0 and Braun shouldn't.

Sorry but no 3 hitter in the major leagues gets the red light, ever. Considering RRR's 'please the players at all times' mentality I would be surprised if the Brewers even had a take sign.

Really? So now not only was Braun not given the green light with a man on 1st base IMMEDIATELY following Weeks being given the green light, but he was being told to take on 3-1 AND you're going to attribute him taking on 3-2 on a VERY close pitch on the outside to RR as well? C'mon...

Actually, how do we know Weeks was given the green light, because he swung? Maybe he was given the take, and swung anyway. maybe Braun was given the green light and chose not to swing, maybe he was told to take...

Again, none of us know what really happened, I agree with stache though, if it was up to Braun, he wouldn't have been taking...

Sure, if you want to venture even further out onto that ledge to try and blame RR for Braun not swinging at pitches on the corner with 3 balls, we COULD speculate that Weeks missed a call.

However I find that pretty unlikely.

I agree. I think you have to be seeking out a reason to bash RR by blaming him for Braun not attacking up there.

Broxton made an incredible pitch there. Braun likes the ball out over the plate. The 1st pitch was trailing in, the 2nd was close and the 3rd was on the black and at the bottom of the zone. It's telling how hard people try to blame RR for everything by trying to blame him for Braun taking those pitches.
