Good to see Jean making a play.

Brauny back over .300 :) And his OPS creeping closer to .900, at .877 now.

I always thought Wily Peralta was going to be more of a strikeout pitcher than he has been. He's only averaging 4.5 K per start, 6.8 K per 9 innings. That's not terrible, but I'd expected him to be closer to 8-8.5 per game. He averaged 9.4 K/9 IP in 2011, and 8.8 in 2012. I know it's not his fastball velocity, as he's got one of the highest average fastball velocities in the Major Leagues. What is it then?

His fastball is pretty straight, it doesn't have much movement on it at all. Once you get to the bigs, it doesn't matter if you can throw it 96, if it's straight as a string, bit league hitters are going to hit it.

Details for the TV challenged please

BRaun!

Peralta and Gomez tagged from 2nd and 1st, respectively, on a fly ball to left-center. Peralta would've been out by a mile if the throw was decent. Both safe, obviously.

Braun's liner probably should have been caught in left, but it was one of those types of hits that froze the left fielder and by the time he figured it out, it was over his head.

Don't forget Jean Segura hitting a "triple" in which he was out by 20 feet at 3rd base, but the throw hit him, and rolled into the dugout, so he was awarded home on the throwing error.

Ya, Heisey kinda planted himself, then was trying to walk backwards and jump up at the same time while the ball flew over his head. Braun golfed a line drive and Heisey completely misjudged how hard the ball was hit. He was squared up on the ball and had no chance to move backwards. The Reds are looking like the keystone cops out there.

I'll take it any way I can get it :)

The funny thing is....this will play into the "Brewers are a good baserunning team" statistics now.

As it should, this isn't video games, bad throws do happen in real life.

The Brewers are in the middle of the NL for baserunning runs

Mesoraco has finally lived up to his massive potential. Mesoraco can just smoke the ball.

Being 'good' and being lucky are two separate things. They got very lucky that both of those were bad throws.

But bad throws happen, so the more often you force throws the more bad ones you will see. You could also argue the defense having to rush the throw caused it to be worse, either way if these are truly random lucky bad throws then they will even out across the league

Brauny is definitely hitting well right now. He has a nine game hitting streak during which he's 14 for 33 for a .424 AVG with 4 runs scored, 4 doubles, a triple, a home run, 7 RBI, 4 BB, 7 K and a slash line of .486/.679/1.183.
