What an odd situation with Aiken. I can't fully tell what's going on, but supposedly he may possess an abnormal UCL. And I guess the Astros fear injury because of it so they reduced their offer. The big problem in this is that they had a deal arranged between Aiken and their 5th rd draft selection Nix who is represented by the same "Agent" as Aiken. Now because Aiken doesn't sign, they also don't sign what was arranged deal with Nix who has no problems to not go through with the signing. I'm sorry but that is wrong on the Astros part. They had a deal in place and pulled it back on Nix. They should suffer the consequence of that arranged deal and sign Nix as agreed upon since he has no health reasons to pull it back on the Astros part.

It's just absurd that Nix's deal was contingent on Aiken signing for 6.5mil or less. I'm going to guess the deal was arranged when the Astros handed in their Selection of Aiken. Probably taking him when they worked with Close that they would select Nix later paying 1.5mil to him doing so. If they had taken say Kolek or Rodon the idea to sign Nix was likely gone.

What kind of Case can Nix file a suit against the Astros?
